Sky 3 Thursday 9pm.
Can't wait to see what new show is like, i doubt it has same coolness factor as original tho from 80's with the "proper" cylons.

I very much doubt it, i liked the characters from old one alot. Im gona treat the new show as a clone of the original. I mean yeah i heard its cool and all but i am big fan of original as i grew up on it. Plus love 80's scifi sound effects and space scenes. They look cooler to me than new space stuff. Plus i heard starbuck is a women in the new show and i mean wtf is that all about.

If you're hoping the new BSG is a clone of the old one, you'll likely be disappointed. To be honest, it's more of a drama set in space than a sci-fi show. But if you go into it with an open mind, you might like it. Personally, I think it's one of the best shows on TV, if not *the* best.
And I think the time travel episodes were from the Galactica 1980 series. Eeew.

I've watched some newer episodes, and one thing I know, whatsherface (blonde robot lady) is really hot, and I saw her in person.

I'm still stuck with Terrestrial Analogue, so I won't be seeing it any time soon. (5 Channels! Woohoo! )
I LOVED the original Battlestar Galactica. I watched it when they did the rerun on BBC2. It was easily better than most of the other scifi shows that were on, although I still preferred Star Trek. (The modern ones, not TOS)

Yeah, i've seen the 25 quid boxes on sale. It isn't the cost that's putting us off - it's that fact that my mum doesn't want another piece of technology that could easily go wrong filling up her living room.
Parents...

Just watched it, was a double bill but i think we have missed the first episode or two as it was like in middle of a story and not begining.
1st episode i saw was where they blew up the carrier of theirs. Then the next episode was where they wer after water after a sabatour destroyed most of their water.
Not bad tho BSG the new one, but is absolutly crap compared to the original.. Has to excitment or really rememberable actors i think the only person i recognised was the president which might have been from somit like the west wing or some show like it. Also cylons are crap, i mean yeah they look nice i supose but there not menacing looking like the old ones and dont get me started on the **** idea of them looking human etc, ala terminator... That just ruins the whole thing. Plus so far i aint heard a cylon "metal one" talk so dunno if they kept the menicing voice from old series.
To be honest was boring. Hope it picks up alot.
Think im gona buy the old series and watch it all over again.

Don't worry, it picks up quite a bit. Those are the correct first and second episodes, however the story actually began with the miniseries (which aired in 2003). If you haven't seen it, you can certainly snag it off BitTorrent. It's probably 3-4 hours long, and you should really watch it.
The series really starts to get good in the second half of the first season, and the second season was excellent (with the exception of a 3-4 episode streak between story arcs).
