 ow well, maybe it isn't a bad choice... it could be much worse
@ Skeeter: this movie is going to show the early years of kirk so it must be a young person 
I also want to see more about the late TNG era, but it seems we wont get it..... maybe after this movie they will learn of there mistakes and make a new movie about the late TNG era  |

WTF, I just can't believe this!! Not just the fact that they are casting Matt Damon for it, but more like the entire concept. Kirk himself was quite young as captain (30-40 yrs) and now they want to make a movie of the "even younger" Kirk (about 20 yrs) and he is captain even THEN! Jeez, guys: start thinking! Most cadets haven't even left the academy at that age!

I don't know if he'll be a captain in the movie.
However, it will be lame movie without an actual captain imo. While the technology and uber starships aren't needed for a great movie, that are definitely part of great Star Trek stories. If all we do is watch Kirk hang around in the academy and follow him as he tries to juggle 6 women at once... it might as well be a soap opera. _________________ -Azh |

I thought it would be a movie about the federation - romulan war and the early days of kirk. Could have misread it
Maybe Kirk will do something in this movie witch makes him captain After all in every startrek serie they are talking about "the great adventures of kirk and the Enterprise" |
