But what has Worf got to do with the origional series? I think this was made by somone who doesn't know much about star trek.

I've heard of these phones beore, so it isn't a joke. The advert might be though. Like you said, whoever made it is an idiot, unless they're somehow trying to refer to the DS9 episode "Trials and Tribble-ations".
Just think though, if it wasn't for Star Trek, we likely wouldn't have mobile phones FULL STOP. 8O

Well, if they're using a REAL voice-over from Star Trek, perhaps Worf is all that they got licensed for/was available/whatever. You know... permission from Paramount and all... involving intellectual property... something we kinda... deal with? :p
However, it's still neat although I'll probably (definitely) never ever get it
While I like Star Trek and all... I'm not crazy enough to geekify everything I own - it's bad enough already :/

Well i'm deffinately going to own one! The reason why it's Worf on a TOS style communicator is in TNG/DS9/VOY they didn#t have handheld communicators. I wouldn't have minded seeing a ENT design one though

How does that explain why it's Worf's voice? Worf was on TNG and DS9, and as you said, they didn't have handheld communicators in those series.

Perhaps they were thinking along the lines of the DS9 episode "Trials and Tribble-ations"?
From that point of view, Worf WAS in TOS.
...Ok, it's a stretch. I can't think of a reason either. It probably was to do with fees and availabilites and licences and whatever, as Azhdeen said.

Yes, I'm sure Azhdeen is right, but seeing as there are very few active threads aside from X-Wars, I feel compelled to keep this discussion going . I don't recall Worf actually having a handheld communicator in that episode. It probably would have looked suspicious, seeing as he wasn't in a Starfleet uniform.

But was it the same Worf? Worf was raised by Humans afterall. Besides, that Worf wasn't in Starfleet.

True.
I think Worf in TNG came from that worf character form the film with a few details changed.
As klingons can live till 200 i think. Or it could be Worfs grandfather i dunno.

The TNG/DS9 Worf was born in 2340 according to Startrek.com - that's 47 years AFTER Undiscovered Country, which was set in 2293.
So they can't be the same person, unless Worf "did a Sela".
I heard that Klingons only live for 50 years though, not 200 like you said, Skeeter. As they say, the candle that burns shortest burns brightest.

Im sure i read that klingons live for about double of humans lifespan. Hence Kor etc that appeared on ds9 and Kor from TOS with kirk.
Given the lifestyle of klingons tho id be surprised if most made it past 50 like u were saying kinda Moe.

Yeah, I had that thought about Kor as well. I think the ones that live long enough to grow old grow really old.

I can't imagine it'll be that much anyway - £100 max probs. Considering they'll want to ship a fair few and even i'm not stupid enough to pay £300 for a new phone
