Hey congratulations Jade! I'm still waiting for my own results, so I can only imagine how relieved you must feel!
It's cool that you'd like to have a go at making a model for the game. Have a look through the shiplist that i've made Here and find a ship that you like the name of.
Skeeter has already made the Romulan Destroyer 1 but the Destroyer 2, Destroyer 3, and Heavy Destroyer are yet to be made.
Let me know which ship you decie to make, coz then I can update the thread to make sure no one else decides to build the same ship.
Have fun!

Congrats! - and nice one with your Romulan model - all contributions gratefully received. There are a few Romulan ships floating around at the mo, but by all means post what you have...

Just to update your model build list MoE, I've done completed models of the Romulan Scout I, Cruiser I, Cruiser II, and Warbird I (only with generic textures tho).
And by the way, the list isn't quite in accordance with the shiplist, there are 2 Warbirds and 1 Warhawk as the Romulans' Command ship types...

That's coz you're supposed to notify me of any changes!
Post updated. There were a few other mistakes other than those that you mentioned that i've rectified as well.

Read lots of tutorials. They can help alot for newcomers. By the way what are you using? 3ds MAX, Gmax, lightwave, milkshape3d, rhino3d, cinema4d, etc?

I wouldn't worry, you still have plenty of time before any of the BOTF2 projects near completion.

How long does one usually take to complete an undergraduate degree in the UK? Four years is the norm over here in the States. Some of us co-op, which means we work in the field every other semester and take five years to graduate. I've got two semesters left, starting next month, and then I graduate in May 2007 (finally) .

for most courses its 3 but some are 4+, depends on the complexity of the course usually and what kind of profession you'd go into.
And Congrats Jade

Man, now I feel like a sucker going into my fifth year of school, even if I've only been in class every other semester. Oh well, only two more semesters to go, and I'm done . Congrats, Jade, I'll bet it feels good to be done.

Atleast you did better than my six year plan. I paid 12000 USD for about 10 credits that I got to transfer to my other schools. Yes, schools with 2 s's. I went to three colleges total. I got a spectacular GPA of > 1 after my first semester (4.0 is the best Grade Point Average). I bumped it up to 1.something the second semester.
Needless to say, I learned a lot during my first year. Particularly how much it sucks to have Calculus at 8 in the morning and that wasting 12000 USD to skip class is probably not a smart idea.
Good news, though: I graduated with my 2 year Associates degree with honors and a healthy 3.6something GPA. I completed my 4 year Bachelors degree with a 3.3something, I believe.
1 year wasted with 10 transferable credits (3 classes) to show for it.
2 years spent at the technical college for Associates Degree.
3 years spent at new 4-year college for Bachelors Degree.
I'm willing to bet anyone who completes their degrees will have done so more effeciently than I have. Congratulations on the passes.

Hehehe, know how you feel, went into my 3rd and last year of University and bombed due to various reasons lol, getting up at 6am and working to 6-7pm and then catching a train back drains the soul lol.
Still you live you learn, some of the old bad habits stay, like leaving it to the last minute but i've enjoyed my comp sci work this year been alot of fun.

Congrats on your CCNA certification, the raise, and the new car . I love roadsters, and the S2000 is pretty sweet. I'm thinking about picking up a new Mazda MX-5 power hardtop when I graduate next spring.

I drive my mum's car. It's not flash, but it gets the job done. It's certainly better than our old car. The only problem is the sharing.
...
Jade, could you send me some screenshots of the models you've made? You don't have to do anything special, just press the "Print Screen" button whilst you've got your design program or whatever open and paste it into Paint or whatever program you use.
I'm still keeping track of all the models for the game, Here, so any screenies you could do would be brilliant. Don't worry about hosting them on the internet, I can do that myself. Just email them to grimmedbythereapernew@yahoo.co.uk, and i'll do the rest.
