rofl sounds funny, but far to crazy. I never liked crossovers .

I have the book.
Its part of my massive library of Trek books.
and I've read part of it. Its fairly well written, though a little... weird..

I'm not usually fussed on crossovers either, although the Star Trek/Babylon 5 crossover that i'm reading on fanfiction.net is absolutely amazing - and loooong. It's spread over 4 books at the moment! 8O
I haven't actually read much in the way of Trek books either...unless you count the Voyager Encyclopedia...
If it didn't mention the X-Men specifically in it though, it might be a good story. There's been episodes of Trek with people evolving or whatever into other forms, so why should this be shunned for being different?
I doubt i'll ever read it, but it sounds cool enough.

I know this is slightly off tyhe topic but I heard that there already planning a 4th xmen movie. It was in the papers yesterday and coz of the success of the 3rd movie they already have all the young actors signed up eager to do it, but the main actors like halle berry and hugh jackman (also franke something....the one who plays jean gray) have not signed up. So the producers might do a xmen: the young generation.
When I say 'signed' up thats what the papers say.
Hope they do a 4th very soon!

the forums are dying.
I predict within the next few months, they will be completly dead. Currently, there are only a few of us still coming.

If the statistics are to be trusted, then the forums are still getting a reasonable amount of traffic. The problem is that nobody is posting anything. I'm still hoping that activity will improve in the next few weeks. It's not very inspiring to develop a game when it seems like everybody has lost interest.

You nailed it, Billy. It is a bit depressing. It'll be a while before anything gets released, so I hope activity picks up a bit before then. I suspect you might be right, however .

what I mean by "Theres only a few of us", meaning there is only a few of us posting. And when the forums look dead, the project looks dead. And when the project looks dead, our traffic will drop tremendously.
And Mstrobel - you still have a good amount of support, even if they dont show it. I remember when I first found the site, the day of the "demo release", I didnt post for a few weeks after that.

yea well i know it looks bad but im sure sumet will come out of the works soon just puzzles me how no offence they got so far (up to demo) then lost it all sure there is a rely good reason its just a shame is all
but as long as the loyals and frequent posters post then its ok
thing i find funny if you look at how many moderaters there are lol at mo i bet one could do it on there own lol
but dont get depressed you always got us behind ya (by us i mean normal posters)
only reason MOE ant posting is coz he PC's is fecked he be back up in a bit to and then when relises start it go back to normal
till then just keep on top of news and try and post when ya can is the best advice

In answer to your question, Gavin fell out of contact for several months. When that happened, all programming work was considered lost, though all of the planning and creative content survived, and is still being used in both new BOTF2 games. However, Gavin recently returned, and says he is continuing to work on the game. He hasn't logged into this site for a month now, so I'm not sure what the deal is.

well, as long as somethings being done, and we have proof of something being done, we will get hits and forum activity.
The problem right now, is that the forums are so massive and spread out, that newbs cant find anything. We need to reorganize the site entirely.
As some of you know, I run/administer/organize multiple websites, and I can help if you want.
We also need to get our name out there, which I could also help with.

Yeah, I'm trying to release tangible previews whenever I can to keep people interested. I was pretty busy with work this summer, so I didn't get as much work done as I would like, but my school workload this semester should be lighter than usual. I don't get very much traffic in the Supremacy forums, though .

yea but in fairness Mstroble if ya look were the last posts have been made they all have been in this thread rely (apart from that new members)
so rely this is on of the only active threads
i kinda agree with Genral_Nem the forums are very spread out i find it difficult to find things some times so a newbie might have a bit of a time finding stuff
but again its a witing game and we gotta wait till sumet is relised alothogh i was thinking to keep the normal members happy (top posters and regulars) organiseing some sort of online game of armada or Bridge commander and have a little league going or sumet to try and get people interest and back into it and have a little comp going or sumet. Of course there BOTF online but i dont like the thought of haveing my assed kicked by jig lol im not very good at the game so i normaly get assed kicked but there are alot of games out there and mabey sumet liek that wouldnt be a bad idea

want a leauge?
I can host a tourney/leauge.
tell me what game, and I'll organize it, if you want.
Mstrobel, theres no activity in the supremacy forums, cause there is nothing to talk about. I for one, only talk when i have something to say.
There was something to talk about when we were figuring out what races, ships, etc. we were going to have. But now that the plannng stage is done, Captain_Billy_Bacon is right, its the waiting game.

Just to let you know guys. I'm more trying to keep the forum clean by checking all posts that are being made everyday, then actually replying. But it's good that once in a while a admin posts .

The original book had Kirk and co and was very good.
Don't know about this one. However IF you can find it there is an excellent fanfic that involves kitty pryde and goes back to explain what happened to mutants in the history of Trek but takes place in TNG era..
It was very well thought out and also quite humorus...
There were a few emotional scenes in it also.

That novel does look pretty bad, but I think I know the other crossover that star-dragon mentions.
It was a crossover comic featuring kirk's crew and the x-men. The villans were Proteus (from the x-men, as I'm sure even those who dont know the x-men could guess), and Gary Mitchel (Kirks old friend who recieved some sorta cosmic powers).
It was an ok story. Not great, but not horrible. I dont feel like writing out the whole story, so if you are interested for a synopsis, look here. http://members.tripod.com/originalvigil ... ekxmen.htm

Oh, that episode with Gary was on BBC2 the other week.
God i'd love to know how they did the special effect with his eyes. They didn't have special contact lenses in the sixties, did they?
