Is there any way someone can post a direct link so I don't have to register to download it?
I don't speak or understand a lick of german (though classes are coming soon because my fiancee is german).

I don't speak or understand a lick of german (though classes are coming soon because my fiancee is german). No, the EXE download is an attachment to the forum. Nobody may re-host the file on this forum without explicit permission from Sir Pustekuchen. If he wants you to register on his forum in order to download the pre-release, then we must respect his wishes.

There is now a IRC-Channel for BotE. (see also here)
Usually, people there can talk english, so there is one channel for english an german. So if you have questions for the game and you are not familiar with german, you maybe get help there.
IRC-Server: irc.st-city.net
Port: 6667
Channel: #BotE
There is also a java applet available for the IRC-Chat: Link

If your stuck with reading the german, just copy and paste the text into a translation website, like the one at dictionary.com it's not perfect, but you'll get the gist of it.

I prefer to use Altavista's Babelfish Translator for translation purposes. It's the second link that comes up if you type "translation" into Google, or you can just click my link.
*Edit - ok, so how do you download BotE? The links just take you to some sort of web-based chat thingy. If he wants to talk to us why doesn't he just use MSN or something? I just want to download the program.

You can also access to the IRC without the "web-based chat thingy". Just download the program mIRC and insert the configuration from above.

ooh .. my .. god! I just read through this thread first time and it rippled me with laughing (btw. nice feature this clicking on where someone is browsin atm, was that implemented before nem? nice thing that's for sure).
well I just have to say Rautzebautze certainly does credit to his name and this german accent even comes through his writing
well, all before my time it seems, but I certainly take the offer about the "welcome to ask about feedback" about our project from MoE.
Now that the need for user registration fell apart, there might be more ppl here willing to play (and are regarding the download stats atm) and maybe even to post a comment once or twice.
Either someone of you or me myself could hence start a feedback thread in our bote sections here. That would perhaps loosen the tongue a bit (kind of few replies down there sadly..)

I rearranged the left bar a bit, so it might have been more visible (or it wasnt working before) Malvoisin wrote: That would perhaps loosen the tongue a bit (kind of few replies down there sadly..)

yea, ppl want crispy screenshots and a ready-dished, smooth&easy-running game with some extra-cheese and a beagle (without cinnamon of course, unhealthy).. think, we owe that one on gavin or what the guy's name was.
I mean leaving without notice and taking the boat with him alone..
I guess he also took a lot of lenience away from the public expectation meaning most ppl simply don't trust the name botf2 anymore and we'll just see the effects done here-..
btw. not that I blame anyone except gavin here, I mean I would just do the same I fear
Anyway, it's no use in retrospecting, so let's look forward on two really nice games when completed, don't we nem?

yeah man, I know exactly how you feel. I was one of those 'lurkers' that hides in the forums (like 1950 OF YOU GUYS!) and doesnt say anything.
Then gavin was going to release his demo! Woot! Even perhaps a double woot!
I know i wasnt happy for a while.
But meh.
Your completely right, there is no use in looking back at what could have been. I think we all gave up on Gavin's game long ago, and look to the future.

And yeah, I'm looking forward to the two games (which I know already are very nice!) plus Jig's.
I hope that we can get some of the old members back as well.
