It is hard growing old. How does it feel to be 40? Are you over the hill?

A great shame that not everyone connected with Trek could be here to witness it. RIP

Rebirth is the order of the day. Here is a link to the next Star Trek film.

So not dead - rather in the process of being reborn.
(I hope they stay away from that alternate story line where Kirk and Spock are gay lovers. Ever wonder why they are such good friends? No, I did not.)

Lol about the gay stuff as i heard once in mp3 format a mix with spock and kirk are haivng experiances of that nature. It was frelling freaky to say the least.
Btw trek is redoing the effects of TOS.

I wounder what it will be like combining old trek charaters in the old fashion sets and clothes and acting with new cgi stuff. Personally id see it just cos im a fan but i dont think id like it as much as original as the effects match the show/sets/actors.

Legacy won't be out until November. With all the hype of Trek's birthday now... I somehow doubt the game is being released on the very day, week, or even month of the 40th birthday.
But it still seems badass and I can't wait for it.

Actually, I think they're doing the "updates" really well.
The entireity of the original series is being digitally remastered, which has made a huge difference - you can see the difference in the video on the left of the page in Skeeter's link. (Click the 5th picture from top-left, the one with the Kirk on it)
The picture under that is a link to another video about the new CGI graphics.
To make the new models, they used the originals where possible - they haven't added in new lights, or panelling, or...Nacelles...to the ships unless it was absolutely necessary.
I think it was work that needed doing, because lets face it, TOS was totally out of date compared with modern Trek - but it was still Trek, and it still is.
She's had a facelift, but she's still the beauty that we all know and love her for.
