Just downloaded the GUI GPU client earlier and started folding immediately. Not sure if it's going anywhere though, it was just saying it was on "0/0" before I left. I'll check again in 15 min when I'm home.

Hmm...I can't help you there. Like I said, it's stil beta software so its extremely buggy. If it hasn't started working, CLOSE folding@home then restart it.

If that still doesn't work, close folding@home, find the folding@home program files and delete ALL the files in the work folder (I'm assuming the GPU version has the same file structure) then start up folding@home again. It should redownload the work unit then.

When I try to load the new folding clients, I simply get an error message, so you guys are certainly better off than me!

That should work. I've found it'll stay stuck on 0/0 even in 5.03. It's just searching for a WU probably. Like MOE said just restart F@H or reboot if you really have to before reinstalling

I didn't know that they'd stopped doing them Qaz, so I don't know when they'll start redoing them. :(

...

Our point score is finally returning to what it should be guys! Just look at The Graph!

And thanks to yesterdays great point score, our future predicted score jumped by 10,000 points, from 271000 by February 4th, to 280500 by February 5th! 8O

...

Winterhawk, I find that the 20,000 frame units take about 3 seconds or less per frame, but they also deliver relatively few points. Remember you can check the point score of your unit Here.

Matress! I'm on # 2124 and if I read that sheet right it is worth 394
credits. 100 frames, and 110 days to complete. But other then that who cares? As long as it gets points for our team!! Research finds a cure for
something, we get much needed points, so everyone wins! LOL

I know I'm strange but such is life! lol

If we get into the top 1300 groups, we apparently get access to more options and better, customisable, signature images - which we can then use to advertise BOTF2.

That's why I want our team to get more points, and like you said, more points means we're that bit closer to curing cancer, so it's a win-win situation.

And if you need more proof that we're doing better, check out our History Graph.

Excellent Tall.

Matress, Just cause I'm nosey, I went looking for personal stats on that site. I could only find stats for Ringgold. I could not find mine or yours or anyone elses.. I thought that to be odd. Then I see they are moving servers and things. So maybe thats it. anyways I just want us to FLY!

EDIT: Just a side note...........100TH POST!!!!!!!! 8) 8) 8)
I know that's still 1/35.73th of MOE, but it's a milestone for me :D

Fat chance guys!

...But keep trying...

Yeah, congratulations, TheWhiteRaven! I used to post everytime I reached a milestone like that.

...

Winterhawk, the personal stats are only given on extremeoverclockers when your team reaches position 800. The reason for this is that the database for the stats is massive, and every time an extra team is added, that's another couple of kilobytes of data (Per day) that has to be added. The database is already 1.3Gb!

Check The FAQ For More Info

If your interested in current member stats though then the official site has plenty of info. It's not updated as regularly but it's still pretty good.

qaz79,

Just looked and you can set your system to recieve only non deadline WU's. Just thought you would want to know.

Currently at 10,400/20,000 this is taking a long time. but chug chug chug! up we climb!

one Wu at a time. LOL

Hehe I managed to download folding@home onto one of the computers at work.

It's folding at the moment, but I don't know if it'll be able to access the network until it completes a unit. Three days to go, it's doing a 600-pointer in my name...

Good job matress. If you get away with it then cool!

I tried sticking it on all the PCs at school but it can;t receive any work units for some reason. Would be pretty good if it'd worked though! 100+ PCs folding simultaniously.

LOL, Trek , I hear ya.

I did my meeting with IBM. They listened well even looked the main site over. These folks even went and had some attorney look it over,( that was in case it leaked into files of customers and caused problems) In the end they told me they were not interested. My gut is teling me that they would rather set up there own team. oh well. was a good try.

Update. I'm on 15,800/20,000 . I will be happy to be done with this big dog! I look at teh graphs and it seems we are just leveling off and I hate that.!!!

Also a friend may be giving me his computer that he does not use! That would be cool if it happens!

Got a question for any one. I finished my 20,000 WU on Sunday Morning. was given a new WU then. it ran really fast. but for some reason. I lost it. dies completly. I saw that is was an error on F@H's part and not me. So I was given a new one mid afternoon Sunday. thing is.. the WU is DUE Today!! I'm currently running at 159/500. I'm sure I will not get it done by midnight tonight which will make it late. With it late will I lose points and cost the team in standings??

I would not wish to do that.

Na, don't worry about it Winterhawk. If you return a unit "late" you'll either get a reduced amount of points or no points at all for it. It won't really affect the team rankings, and we WON'T get slapped down for it.

Work units fail all the time - folding@home have basically got units for every single possible protein - even if they could never actually work in "real life". Half the point of folding is find to out what these proteins are.

If a unit fails, I believe you get points based on what precentage of the unit you completed until it failed.

Cool, but I would be happier if they gave someone else a WU that was due the next day! someone who could process it in like 30 minutes! lol

And Hey I did my final write up to Klorg vs Borgulan but no one has gone to read it. I tried to make it funny also.. I kind end to a stupid thread! lol So read it !!! lol

Ye i'll give it a read for you mate. Have you selected WUs with deadlines? Also you usually get more than a month before you start to loose big points so i wouldn't worry at all. Congrats on finishing it
