Oh, I was just struck by inspiration and made this:

A super-warbird of a sorts. I still have to work on it, especially the central body and the head

The only "super-Warbird" we have in the shiplist is the Valdore - and we obviously already know what that looks like. It can't be a Warbird either coz we already know what the D'deridex looks like and Dafedz has already built the D'Voronir Warbird 1. We'll have to use it as another model, Trashman.

How do these classes sound?:

I added in your shipyards, Trashman. Don't forget, a small shipyard builds 1 ship, a medium shipyard can build two ships, and a large shipyard can build four ships - so IF we're going for realism (I'm not saying you have to) the medium and large shipyards will need additional structures attached to them to show this, rather than a single, larger gantry for the larger models.

Any bird that has hawk at the end of it is OKAY in my book! lol

Guys, i've posted a MASSIVE update to the shiplist - i've completely overhauled the minor race ships (Orange section at the bottom) so it now includes all the designs that are in Dafedz's database - that's SIXTY-ONE MORE SHIPS THAT NEED MODELLING!

Ah...it wasn't a typo, Kenneth, I made a mistake in the image tags - if you read it, you could see that the title was included in the link.

Basically, I was telling the site to display the link as a name - without actually specifying what that name was! *ahem*

As an example, i'll use the link for the forums:

http://www.botfii.armadafleetcommand.com

The link is displayed as-is.

However, if I add in the url tags around the link, then DELETE the first close bracket ] sign of the tags (So url] becomes url= ) then add in a close bracket sign ] after the url and type in the name that you want for the link, you will get a link that has whatever name you want:





The mistake that I made was that I added in the equals sign, I just forgot to put in "KennethGF's Romulan Outpost 2".

I also forgot to do it for the Outpost 1.

Anyways, both links are now fixed. I can't promise they link to the right thing...but they're fixed.

I see some models listed on page one that are not on Sharepoint. Do we need to make an effort to find these people and their models? Is there any way to do that or do we just have to hope they pass through the solar system again in a few year? Guess we will have to rebuild some. That mean we have to use Sharepoint as our real model list?

I would like to assimilate this ship please.

Romulan Starbases are complete. Gorn ships are on hold while we concentrate on completing the major races.

Have a look through the shiplist on this thread Zeleni - my first post on the first page - and find a ship class that seems to fit the model that you have. Rename the files so that these match, upload them to sharepoint, then let me know what designs you have so I can update the shiplist.

It would be nice to have some images of your ships, (Editor screenshots or renders, it doesn't matter) but images aren't essential.

If it's not in the list, then i'm 99% sure it hasn't been made - unless we're going to use the models from BOTF. Actually I'll ask about that one.

Thanks. If we will use some from the original game it would be nice to establish that now. I am hot to build but waiting for a clear target.

I heavily doubt we're usin any models from botf cause they all are kind of "scrambled" in modern Z-buffer-Engine-driven 3D-programming times. (clear? )

as far as my understanding goes they are pretty useless unless one rebuilds the old botf engine exactly..

Malle has right about original models .... it would be good to have at least original ship textures to make modelers life easier. I m courious about this Matress shiplist, these models ( finished ) are stored somewhere (net) or they are on hard drives of their creators? if they are on hard drives I supose many of them are lost...

Matress I tried to upload Bajoran Fighter model but I had sharepoint problems with zip file! ( I tried trough IE and office 2003 maybe office is to old I don t know)

you don't need office. Just use explorer view there instead of Documents view and copypaste your files on the site. Goes a lot faster!

As far as I know you CANNOT upload zip files to sharepoint - I've tried a million times and sharepoint just won't accept them.

The models are all being stored by Jig - as long as people sent them to him in the first place. It will be up to him to upload them to sharepoint since he is the one that has them.
