I am testing this whole insert image program. I hope it works.

Lars, you might want to load your images up to this site.

http://photobucket.com/ then you place them here real easy.

Here's a good question for all you starfleet command 3 players out there. I am currenlty working on a conquest campaign, and things are going really slow on earning prestige to get a better ship. The only missions I come across are the scan and distress call ones, other than the attacking the enemy empires of course. Is there any other way to earn prestige a little faster that anyone knows of?

Hehe if yu were talking about SFC2 then I could tell you how to cheat.

...But I haven't got SFC3 so I can't help you there. Still, the cheat from SFC2 may be worth checking out - something similar may be possible in SFC3.

In SFC2, look for a file called "Character.gf". (C:\Program Files\Taldren\Starfleet Command II\MetaAssets\Server profiles\Singleplayer) Open it with Notepad or any other text program you have. (Notepad is best for simplicities sake)

Near the top of the file, it says:

Quote:
StartingPrestige=50 //This is a Charaters starting prestige

Change the 50 to any number you want, obviously the higher the better.

Alternatively, you can try modding some of the other files in the same folder.

Editing Economy.gf will allow you to change how often certain ship classes appear in spacedock, (So you can make it easier to find battleships when you want to buy them) or you can change the cost of spare parts, missiles, fighters, shuttles, marines, etc.

...You can even change the physical cost of the ship classes as well...

I don't know if this is of any help to you because I don't know what the files are like in SFC3, or you may not even like cheating...but it's worth checking out at least...

I found out other ways to earn fast. Capturing the ships of enemy empires is worth alot. Especially when there are multiple ones. I have finally earned my warbird, so now the galaxy will soon be mine.

So what about star trek online now? I've seen the main developement site, and that was a little helpful. I've seen two different release dates of the game, on is late 2007 and one is in early 2008. Can anyone elablorate on this?

A few months back, there were actually two Star Trek based online multiplayer games being released.

one was fan based, like BOTF, it has, like most fanbased games, died. Pitifully. I am very disapointed.

the second is Star Trek Online - made by Perpetual, their site is here:

http://startrek.perpetual.com

to answer your question:

Quote:
When are the beta and release dates?

We haven't made firm beta plans yet, but we're hoping to begin limited beta testing in the Summer of 2007.

I plan to be on the beta test, by whatever way possible.
