I know this has been mentioned before, but it is time to bring it into the light once again.

In the beggining, there was BOTF, And Behold it was good, but not good enough, for there were flaws. Regardless, we played many hours ,with enjoyment, and well as dismay.

Then along came the Prophets (Devs), and they called out to all in the lands of the Earth, that WE as Gamers could come together, share ideas and encouragement, and create a truly wonderful Trek Game that would be wonderous. Trek gamers across the Globe heard these words and responded, "We will help in any way we can". Great minds gathered and shared ideas and visions of what was to be. Programers began to write code, Moddlers began to build, and ideas flowed. The fellowship grew and grew! One game turned into two, then three and four.

With this growth also came dissention. Those who only wanted to play final versions, demanding "when are they going to be done?" At first there voices were small, but after a time they grew louder. This upset the DEVS, as they were working as fast as they could, yet were offered almost NO encouragement or further help.

Many long time posters of the forums began to show themselves less and less. New members signed up, asked about when the games would be complete, then when told such things cannot be rushed, vanished into the cyber night.

Days turn into months, and the voices grow still. Hearty gamers who have a strong minds and an even stronger love of Trek games hang on now by a small thread.

It is said, that without encouragement or a want, that the development of the games grows slower. And with one, it is all but stopped. These Forums are all but quiet. Were it not for a small band of dedicated gamers, there would be almost no voice at all here any longer.

It is too all the gamers that I make this thread. Bring Forth your voices once again! Encourage the Devs, Nemitor, Jiggy, Mstrobel, Malvoisin, Sir P, and the many others.

Let your words be seen and read! Encourage them to keep working hard! Shout that you approve of the work that they are doing! Praise them for all the long hours they have devoted to make these games!

Do not let all that they have done be in vain. Speak out! Offer to help! Every little thing is SOMETHING!

Be A member! They need to know!

Keep them going! Lets get back to talking Trek again! Lets get the fires burning!

Let them know there are gamers still alive who want something better!

*Thanks*

Winter...

Luckily not all who were there from the start are gone now.. Still wondering, has SonOfMogh never checked in anymore? Same with stHedgehog? Had great fun with those two on the forum 8) .

Yes, Son of Mogh often posts.. but I think it is more directed to individual games then the main forums..

Now that I have the tools, some skills and training there is more of my time spent working on the models than posting about them. Keep the faith. I do. :D

Thanks Zeleni, your the first "lurker" to say anything. That is important!

And this is sad. so far 78 readers and what 10 posts? and only one from a player we have not heard from before?

But I'm not giving up! The Devs need me! Even if I cannot write code, or build a ship/planet/space station... But I do other things, research for one, help test if needed... And always offer thanks to those who can do those things. (I know how much time they have given up out of their personal lives to do this)..

So Say something... A simple thanks guys!! Give them support!

What does this have to do with getting others who only read to come on out and ask questions and things? This is one thread I would like to see stay on topic a bit more then the others.

While I cannot program or build models, I have been searching sites to advertize these games once they are complete. I now have a very large list, and am waiting for release dates.

I am excited to get playing, and hopefully everyone else is also. I'm aware there is lots of coding and ships/structures/ and heavy tech data to be done, But We got to get the excitement back. We have to get all the folks who may have bailed, to take a new look, open up, ask questions,
and bring back that fire this place had when I first joined.

I guess you could kind of call me a lurker...well, you have to admit I haven't been around as much lately thanks to the problems that i've been having over the last week or two coz of my bloody computer!

SOM...comes and goes. We prefer to say that he is on a spiritual slaughtering of Jem'Hadar. It's his 13th one, I believe. Those poor Jem'Hadar don't know what hit them...

I assume the reason SOM isn't around as much as he used to is the fact that he got married back in November. For some reason he didn't want to post about it at the time. I doubt he'll notice that I just announced it... :P

Me and SOM stay in contact via PM whenever he's around. It's the easiest way coz you never know when he's gonna be around. I'll send him a PM and tell him to check out this thread next time he completes his slaughtering.

It is a shame that some of the other old guys aren't still around though. StHedgehog, OmniQ, Raiden, SMIFFGIG, Michae1ange1o, CVN-65, ftranschel, Zahadoom...even Marky... :P

I know, people come and go as they want, but I think there is a real sense of community in these forums - when people actually bother to post, of course. When people stop posting, we lose a valuable part of the community. :(

Come on, lurkers, there's nothing to fear! Show yourselves to us and tell us what YOU want from the games!

Eh, that's cool Winter. I didn't know what to say, so I simply posted the first thing to come to me to let everyone know I'm still around :p

ROFL marky   great fun we had with him.

well when games do get released, then i'm sure those 'lurkers' will post and more people will come and check out the forum. We just need the proper advertising then. btw. gj on the list Winterhawk7.

no, I just read MoE's latest complain about the weather in the UK though he just mentioned it in a side notice..
