Sorry Trashman but what I said before is wrong. I check my email at work today and ABC casting says the DVD needs to be on their desk by Wednesday, the 31st. That means I have to film and edit the video tomorrow. Slam-dunk (basket ball term) and in the can. My videographer is gone to Sedona Arizona at a film festival this weekend. One of his movies is being shown. This really may be good news though. As he came from a film background, including the original Star Trek film, his plan for this was a big production.
My understanding from ABC is that they just want to see how I look and act on film. They do not want to get a min Star Trek episode at this point. That is what Paramount will provide if anyone does.
Thank you Skeeter. I got a second 30-day trial of software to unzip, renamed the file back to rar and it looks great. In fact it is exactly what I needed. My video is to show me pitching my concept for the competition. The pictures make it look better. Your pictures are perfect for that mate.
I pulled in some favors for studio time by dropped the name of the well know organization supporting me. The backup crew and I film and edits tomorrow. Monday I will send by next day mail the DVD to the Los Angeles California offices of ABC casting. I know you all wish me luck. Win or loose we are all on the team. Thank you for your support.
I will leave the name of BOTF II out of my project until or unless someone esle here chose to inquire with Paramount. It will not go down like what you see here.

Kennith,
Just remember us "Little people" when you become a big star! LOL
Hint hint, you can put us in your movie that you will direct for Paramount!

It seems Viacom Consumer products (?) sold the rights to create massive multiplayer game for pc to Perpetual Entertainment.. And viacom is owned by paramound i think ?...

sure, but that's a whole other story (the MMORPGs are somewhat different to turn-based games like botf). Perpetual Entertainment could possibly be dangerous to already existing Startrek fanmade MMORPGs but not us.
Viacom and Paramount are always to be considered "dangerous" (in a lack of a better sounding word here) cause they give the license away for the Star trek content. But since we take no money and botf isn't on sale anymore except (!) on ebay which could lead to a private civil lawsuit from an angry gamesseller maybe (but this chance is as low as 1E-17, virtually zero), no real harm is done here.
I am more concerned about this atari/infogrames company which seems to be in deep financial troubles since last year (check for the news via google).
They still have the full rights on botf and everything derived from botf or made look like a derivation/sequel to botf. So they can right now kick us in the butt IMO.

perpetual only have a licence for the mmo, bethesda have a licence for any genre type i believe. gavin never got a c&d order, harry lang himself knew of this project and there has been to problems at all with paramount, who btw own all the licences. atari/infro can only issue c&d orders on games they own full title to, they only had a licence for trek games which is long gone. i know this is a legal grey area, mgm had some stargate mods shut down as they were worried about loseing mony when the sg1 games start coming out, however paramount have yet to launch a legal battle to stop any fan based games or mods.

Yes. The video for ABC casting just went out by express mail. It is in the hands of fate now.
A special thanks to Trashman and Jigalypuff for the additional pictures. The graphics were just in time and very helpful. You guys really do great work.
It may be that what I proposed will be viewed as too both dark and compelling for what the ABC producers have in mind. They may be looking for both light and nasty TV formula. If they are looking for a group of guys that live in their mother's basement and dress up like Klingons to then fight it out in a reality TV competition setting - well then all is now lost. You will all see why and understand soon enough.
Even if this project goes no further than this we can still have a good time with it. If I am accepted to this competition there will be more work to be done. You can all help me at this stage. To prepare for the competition of Star Trek dreams I will want to see what your ideas for a Star Trek fantasy are. Tell me what you would have ABC and Paramount do for you. Why is your idea more deserving than the next guys? I will start a new thread. We can leave this thread now to the legal discussion. Look for Star Trek 101. Have fun, be nasty or nice but make a compelling case. I will learn how to deal with your ideas by how you deal with each other’s.
Thanks for your support.

Just some Followup for those that remember this thread; The show was so bad it was pulled off the air before they could get to the Star Trek episode. Once I learned of how shallow the "contests" were I was glad I had not gone any farther with it. I would not have myself a clown in the media circus just to get on TV. Only a benefit for children with cancer could get me to follow through and that was clearly too serious for these people.
