Well mine came out of a need for a password on some system I was working on at work several years ago I needed one quickly. Not being the most creative of people and totaly frustrated that this system had used up all the passwords I used at that time. However I was going on holiday the next day so it was a sure bet I would forget it when I returned
So I need something I could easily recall and have to thank Terry Pratchett for it, I was reading one of his novels "The Thief Of Time" and one one of the lead characters was Lobsang. I also have been told Lobsang is a Tibettan name too.
Then a few days later I needed a login name for something and Lobsang sprung to mind.

Mine's pretty simple.. Ringold is my surname, and 'Capt' comes from...
Starting some where in 2000, started taking some flying lessons. It was cheaper then, and easier to further economize with some older models that were still more common. By 2001, started using 'CaptRingold' as most my forum names etc out of sheer enthusiasm at hopefully ending up a captain of some sort or another.
9/11/01 threw things out of whack. Energy prices spiked, and it hit av-gas harder than automotive blends. Only one or two US airlines managed to avoid bankruptcy. I might've loved flying, but.. as the Klingons would say, only a fool stays in a burning house. The best methods of economizing (flying C152's) were literally 'blown away' by Hurricane Charley couple years back.
I haven't touched a plane in about a year.. I won't make another 'CaptRingold' forum name anywhere, though I did have someone tell me helicopter pilots are in a serious shortage.. I'd look in to it, but I don't care what those chopper pilots say, if the engine dies, YOU die. At least my Cessna's become gliders.. I have a hard time getting over that.

I have 10 hours flight time in a cessna.... but that was years ago..
(back in lst 70's) I would love to fly a helio.... but then i love danger..! lol

Really? You understand my love for flying then.
I've got around 45 in 152's, 45 in older 172's (N-models), 30 in newer SP models, and then 10 or so in DA-20/Katana's. Stopped juuust short of finishing my instrument rating.. too expensive..
Yes, you're definitely braver than I am though! I think it'd be great fun, much better view than from a cessna, but.. too risky for me.

It just depends. I mean I used to freestyle rock climb..(no ropes), Even jumped from an aircraft parachuting.. been caving, got to fly.. and got a ride in an F-15 Eagle -E at mach 3.. that was a blast! Now I want to go out on a huge ship, and fly to space... Then I might be happy! lol
errr kinda! lol

I remember the first time I flew... Thats not hard to do actually considering the first time I have ever flown on a jet anywhere in my life was a year or so ago... My parents prefer to hook up the pop up and campgroud hop to their destination. While that is fun and all, nothing beats being 30,000 feet in the air. Baically I had a choice, campground hop with my parents and my teenage female cousin from Central Texas to DC where my brother was at the time, or fly.
Boy, were my arms tired.
I can't wait until I can get in a cockpit one day and fly...

Hmmm Fox... Hmmmmmmmmmm Darn I posted the reason on the other thread.. need to have it moved to here..
for the rest.. Well i'll behave
she has my respect...
[EDIT]
For other news. For those who noticed I have a name change, here is a short reason why...
I'm in X-wars with Matress. Some of our team members were having a disucssion about an enemy aliance member who has been raiding a few of our systems.. I made some comments and some actions that made a couple of them call me a Monster... I laughed and said yea.. I'm even more E-ville then matress.. which at the time he did not disagree with! lol
So after a few actions were set into motion.. well thats where it was hard earned.. lol
And now.. I have some really E-ville Ideas, I'm itching to get into pratice.. lol
Only the Gods can save my future victims.. lol and they are afraid! hehehe

I think it would calm our nerves more if you didn't behave... When a Romulan is behaving it's only because he is up to something and doesn't want to attract attention.
