Some people may already know this, but Stargate SG-1 has been cancelled!
The Sci-fi channel has decided not to renew their contract to air the next season, and without an outlet to air the shows, the producers won't be able to continue filming it.
The Sci-fi channel has quoted poor viewing figures as the main cause of their lack of faith in the future of the series.
The good news is that IF a channel was to sign the contract, the writers and actors WANT to continue making the shows.
This news doesn't affect Stargate: Atlantis though. The Sci-fi channel has signed it up for another season, as it is gaining higher viewing figures than SG-1, even though the viewing figures of Atlantis have been lower than expected during season 3 in America.
There's also an online petition to bring it back - i've already signed it myself.

On another point, Stargate has officially entered the Guinness book of Records - for the longest consecutive running Sci-fi TV show. The series has run without a break for 10 years, airing 203 episodes to date. The previous holder of this record was the X-Files, with 202 episodes. 8O
