i know about this command. as microsoft had implemented it in his OS, only fnt fonts and microsoft specific font format are supported, so no ttf.

Using a screen print and pasting the image into GIMP I was able to stretch out fonts.

sure but can gimp save to ttf format? I doubt that
 Stretching a screenie is of course always possible, but does not quite help in this case unfortunately. |

I was thinking in terms of replacing the ttf text display with an image. It would mean rewriting the code for that part of the game and having image files for all the lines of text you need to show in the game in that font. I know that is not what you want to do but I am just thinking about the problem.
