anyone knows a good klingon font that sort of combines klingon dagger "thin-ness" and klingon blade shape? The latter is way too bold for good use in botf2 but is actually the same as used on the main buttons in good old botf.

so if anyone knows or wants to try and find some free font lookin alike the botf font, please go ahead. It's very much appreciated. The ideal font would be a slightly thinner Klingon Blade, cause this font is pretty much what fits to the klingons best IMHO.

those sites only have fonts that are widespreadedly available. Unfortunately those don't look very good.

so, please keep searching, it's kinda important ;)

thx. I've seen that on all those sites offer the same 6 different klingon fonts. if only the klingon blade was a little thinner and had better non-capital letters one could actually read .. ;)

guess I have to look at non-specificly-named fonts that by chance match the klingon dagger somehow..puh, that's a stupid kind of work.. :(

as far as I know one needs a specific font editor for this cause TrueTypeFonts like the one I search for are not exactly bitmap or jpg graphics but otherwise coded, so if you got such an editor (which are all non-free except font-forge for linux) you might be able to do so, but I really don't know how difficult that gets, so I'll try and look for a font first and see what comes up.

There is something you could try - check out this website:

http://www.downloadsquad.com/2005/09/13/free-font-editor-in-windows/

Hopefully that will be of use to you. It appears I have the program, at least...

Using a screen print and pasting the image into GIMP I was able to stretch out fonts.

sure but can gimp save to ttf format? I doubt that ;) Stretching a screenie is of course always possible, but does not quite help in this case unfortunately.

I was thinking in terms of replacing the ttf text display with an image. It would mean rewriting the code for that part of the game and having image files for all the lines of text you need to show in the game in that font. I know that is not what you want to do but I am just thinking about the problem.
