Your one is now two, and soon as I get this new computer assembled, over-clocked, and stability-tested, it'll be 3.

Watch your daily production over the next week. I think you'll like it.

What happened to white raven on folding at home? He was doing so well before my laptop broke, did I miss something when I went away or is he folding for some one else.

I dont know; he actually had me wondering if he'd end up overtaking me some time this year if I wasn't careful to keep up production, but then he went silent points-wise.

I was hoping to have my next computer folding by now, but it looks like I've got a bum stick of RAM. Memtest86+v2.7 bleeds memory errors all over the place, even when I feed it extra voltage.

I'm trying to get some ideas at Hardforum.com, but wouldn't be surprised if I have to RMA the RAM. That'll be a lousy week-long delay, but if I find which modules are bad tonight I ought to be able to still run it fine with half the RAM gone.

sigh.. now just to get it working.

Seems like this happens a lot.. many start folding after joining BOTF then slowly fade away into the shadows.

Very odd to me..

But the bright side, were all still folding. too bad many more wont join us though.

Got the new machine folding; retired the old dual Athlon MP 2400 system. I'll still probably have just doubled my output, though, if not more.

That's my extra contribution for the next 1.5yrs, till I build a new one.

I've had so many problems with it recently...almost fixed though now, and I'll be starting up again by the end of the week.

Winter: I thought you were only running one computer?! lol

http://fahstats.com/t.php?filter=all&col=2&t=46574&search_text=

You seem to be folding ALOT these days! lol I'm running 24/7 and I can only do 2 units a week if I get 20,000! In a few months you'll be top of the list!

I am only on one system. but I dump cookies and temp files like 6 to 7 times a day and that speeds things up big time. A 20,000 WU used to take me almost 10 days to do.. Now if I surf the web heavy in combination with my dumps I dunno but it flies fast!

I have no way of explaining it otherwise. Well that and I keep very little stored on my system. lol

I still have 45 of 60 gigs open! lol

And stumpy retakes 5th!

But only by about 1 small WU's worth of a lead.

Top 6 is competitive now, which is what I hoped for by bringing Winter up to it. Now you guys can trade spots back and forth.

Btw, anyone figure out who Bogseat and Ashur where? I remember a while back I figured they'd overtake me before too long, but they slowed down. Never knew who they were.

I've just been given a unit worth 594 points!!! And it supposed to only take 2 days and 2 hours!?

Bet it fails soon.... these big units dont like my laptop for some reason! Does anyone know why they fail?

Woo! My hard drive has been fixed!

I can start folding again now!

...

Ashur *was* a member on the forums. He didn't post much, but he was around. I haven't seen him in a looong while though. As for Bogseat, I've go no idea who that is. I've always wondered if it is just a random person who put the wrong team number in folding@home. :P

I've thought to start a new thread myself, and constantly update the first post as an FAQ, but have been much too lazy to assemble the initial FAQ.

If I had one, I'd use it, but.. I spend enough on my comp I can never justify the expense of a console for pure gaming. Besides, I suck with controllers.

WADS ftw! Old school.

While the forums were down.. I hit two new goals;

1) I'd never sustained 8k points per week before, not even close
2) Flown past the 100,000 point mark

I don't know what's boosted production so much, lucky WU maybe, less time for gaming the past few weeks perhaps, I don't know.

I looked to do other projects for a bit while waiting for F@H's new SMP Windows client to mature, but realized very few do science as worthy as F@H, so.. I'll dust myself off and march onward to 200k!

In fact, I'll make a bargain; if the Message Boards Gods keep the forum up, I'll keep folding. 8)

Am I really the only one that lets it run 24-7 though? :?

I fold 24/7.

Just found out my mate has a ps3 and he's now foldng on it. You CAN choose your own name and team number too! So it's now folding for us! However there is a limited number of letters you can have for your name so I wasnt able to fit Aurthur_wonderbird! grr. But at least its folding for the team!

Also installed folding at home on his laptop too and he leaves that on all day too.

My computer folds 24/7...but not 365 days a year. :P

I leave my computer on permanent until mum or my sister mention why it has been on for so long. They seem to think leaving it on is a waste of eckeltricity. Stupid family.

I'm glad the forums are back though. I've been away for the last two days or so so this was definitely a pleasant surprise! 8)

Raining? We're having the hottest Easter on record over here. I've already got sunburn on my nose and ears!

This has actually been perhaps the coldest Easter weekend in Florida I can remember! Balance in the force, I suppose; cold here, hot there.

It is a shame, though; the girls around campus had started shedding all their winter clothes, now they might crack out the turtlenecks again. Shame, shame, no eye candy for Ringold.

lol, you Floridans can't even talk about cold Ringold. As for balance in the Force, it was -20C here with winds about 80-100km/h and about half a meter of snow, so some country out there must have had most of it's population burst into flame
