Glad to see you're still around Silver! Haven't seen you in a while!
Chronus, we have a database with tons of info about the games Here.
If you want a guide though, these are the expanable races:
Acamarians
Andorians
B'omar
Bajorans
Benzites
Betazoids
Bolians
Breen
Coridan
Devore
Dosi
Ferengi
Gorn
Hirogen
Karemma
Kazon
Ktarians
Malon
Miradorn
Mokra
Nezu
Orions
Sheliak
T'lani
Tak Tak
Talarians
Talaxians
Tamarians
Tellarites
Tholians
Trabe
Trill
Vaadwaur
Vidiians
Vulcans
Xindi
Zahl
Zakdorn
Zalkonians
The other races that are in the game will not be expanable - they will simply exist as they did in BOTF and thats it. They will build defenses and whatnot though. They won't be pushovers just because they can't expand!
Obviously different expandable races will expand at different speeds as well. The Vulcans will expand the fastest, for example.
Hope that helps.

Been busy with work, so nothing has gotten done in the past two weeks. I'm going to go back and rework some of the tech tree stuff today and possibly tomorrow. The AI and Diplomacy systems are still in their preliminary stages.

Published a minor update (see original post). No major changes, but I fixed a couple issues with the editor and changed the way the default tech tree works so that people can start adding more ships and buildings. Also, chat shouldn't cause multiplayer games to lock up anymore (for real this time, I hope ).

I'm rather drunk rightht now, so I'm not quite sure what youre' talking about, b8ut taht sounds like siomethign that could be aded as a random event. As oif yet, the random even t list hasn't been finalized.

Yep, you're drunk, Mike. What sort of example are you trying to set here?
The list of the random events is being compiled by me - actually the full list is done, what is taking me so long is the writing that goes with it - i'm writing a personalised message for EVERY one of the random events for EVERY RACE - so that works out at five messages per random event - which is already at 115 events! (It's more like 100 - some random events, such as invasion by the Crystalline Entity, won't have an event message, as with BOTF. There are more entities included in the list this time round!)
The full list is available for download from Here. (Right-click and save as)
I can post the random event message is people want me to do so as well, but they are far from complete - I haven't updated them in a few months to be honest.
The various game developers will NOT be using the whole list - they may decide to use only one or two. It is entirely up to the programmers, because each event will have to be manually programmed in, whih will take time and effort.
I have been compiling ideas for the list for well over 2 years now, so there isn't much more that could be added. I'm open to suggestions but the list is plenty big as it currently is - and like I said, most of the events likely won't make it into all the games.

You can add major and minor race ships using the June 9 version of the editor. However, you'll have to add a new ship to the owner Civilization's tech tree. Note that changes made with the editor will only be reflected in new games, not saved games.

I understand we could mod in a different race. We will have to see what Mike says about more than five players.

The max number of players is based on the number of empires, so if you had six empires, you could have six players.

I imagine adding more Empires would be relatively easy - all you ned is to give them the files. (Models, structures, images, interfaces, sound effects, text, and so on)
Giving them an AI would probably be the problem, unless they automatically have a generic one that the game reverts to if a specific ones isn't already programmed? Is that correct, Mike? Programming is a major blackhole in my knowledge of computers.

There will be some AI-related flags you'll need to set for each empire, but nothing terribly difficult.

Mi moep, (Hehe I almost feel like i'm talking to myself here! ) if you downloaded Supremacy from the link on the FIRST post of this thread, then you have the latest version available.
As you can imagine, the games that we are creating here will take a looong time to complete, so instead of releasing the game only once it is complete, we are instead posting updates as and when the various developers feel that they have made any changes that need testing by the community.
The Federation are playable because they are the only race that has so far been implemented. Once the game is closer to completion, Mike (MStrobel) will release an update that will enable one or more of the remaining races, then another update fto enable another race, and so on.
The LAST update of all that will be implemented will be the one that enables full 3D tactical combat - this will likely be true for Birth of the Empires as well.
This is purely because tactical combat is a major piece of programming and there isn't any point in doing it until the rest of the game is complete AND all the models etc are ready to be added in. There's no point in a 3D combat system that doesn't have any models - or even worse - is incompatible with the game it was made for! 8O
Releasing the game in chunks also means the community can test the game(s) as they get closer to completion. Without people testing the game, we won't know if and what the bugs are. Everyone has different systems with different capabilities and software versions. It would be impossible to know that the game will work without this early input. It is better to test now than find that the game was incompatible with any computer that has say...a monitor.
Ok, maybe the bugs aren't that extreme, (I hope 8O) but I hope you understand what I mean. The game WILL be updated one day to let you play as the other races, but for now you'll just have to put up with playing as the Federation.
...Of course, if you can't wait, you could always try using the editor that comes with the game, or you could even offer to help. There are plenty of opportunities for people, just check out the Jobs and Positions forum.
Welcome to the site.
