Hi all, I was wandering if you could help me. I played birth of the federation some time ago, and had a lot of fun whit it. Now I'm looking to play again but did not find my software anymore. I have look every where to find it again but I have not succeed. Where could I find the software that work with windows XP so that I can play again.

I have seen this but it seams rather pricey. Others may know better. If you can wait we will finish the sequel at some point. It will be better. My old copy of the original runs under XP, but make sure you get all the patches.

That's right - you can download the game in the downloads section of the parent site of these forums!

Sign up to the forums, then log in.

You can't access the downloads section on the parent site unless you first log in, so don't even try.

Once you've logged in, click on the downloads link at the top of the page, then click on the "Birth of the Federation 1.0 Backup" link, then click on the "Birth of the Federation" link and download it.

You then have a choice - you can either burn the file to a disk with Nero and play it off the disk, or you can mount it onto your computer (Don't ask me how I haven't got a clue) - mounting it on your computer will apparently make the game run much faster - as much as 200% faster - simply because it doesn't need to access the disk to run the game.

Downloading the file however is completely illegal IF you have not bought the game - seeing as you used to play the game, I can assume you did buy it though.
