« Do you think we could have game like this on the XBOX 360? A NEW STAR TREK GAME just like BIRTH OF THE FEDERATION, but for the XBOX 360 ENTERTAINMENT GAMING CONSOLE SYSTEM?

What do you think?

Thank you. »

I voted no coz I'm a Nintendophile. If this game is coming out anywhere else, it's on the Wii or DS. :P

I totally disagree with you. Who cares? Everyone is untitled to their own decisions. But, if they do it on the 360...well, someday will adapt it to be played on the others. Purely simple logic, law of physics, market, technology and most of all the LAW of competitions between gaming companies. That's it! That's all!

Turn-based strategy games don't lend themselves well to consoles because of (1) restrictive input devices, (2) lower resolution displays, and (3) relatively poor multiplayer support.

You're a little late, Soval4e.

I posted about this around a year ago, and got a similar reaction.

That doesn't mean we can't discuss it again, Nem...especially now that Nintendo has announced that it is going to help small developers make games for the Wii.

C&C 3 is not turn based, but rather Real Time.

TBS (Turn based Strategy) and RTS (Real Time Strategy) are very different genres. C&C3 is one of the first RTSes to successfully be ported to a console, although there have been attempts (SC64)

BOTF/BOTF2 are Turn Based. Allegiance is a crazy mixture of tons of genres, but thats unimportant since its an online game.

TBS games require a LOT of mouse movement and little keyboard or joystick, and thus make it difficult to select individual buttons on the screen with a console controller. For RTS this was almost as bad of a problem as TBS, but with new AI, camera, controls, etc. it is possible, as C&C3 and soon Halo Wars will show.

I'm not saying it would be impossible to do, im just saying that unless you want to redesign the whole UI it would be awkward and annoying to play.

Awwww...who cares? Damnit! I don't care. Well, We'll just have to wait, HOPE for the best & see for ourselves! Someday, somebody will pick up your game and adapt it for all gaming consoles. And It will happen. It's only a matter of time. Believe it or not. It will come. I can FEEL IT. Happy or not. You will be all mouth shut and I'll be happy. I will buy it 110% SURE!

Or they will pick up somebody Star Trek: BOTF and make it happen. So, it's your lost if you don't become rich. I'm sure UBISOFT MONTREAL would be quite interested in a CHALLENGE like this. I've heard they live with high standards & expections. Always ready for a challenge. So? Who's gonna be rich for the new game? Imagine!! Your game on every gaming console around the world. & You... full of cash and can even start your little gaming studio like Mad-Doc Software. Did with Star Trek Armada.

« Hey! Mac-Doc! Listen closely! I WANT THIS GAME on the XBOX 360!! If these jerks don't do anything. I want you take it and do it with UBISOFT MONTREAL. They will be quite up for this challenge you can bet on it! They'll accept! They are always ready for a challenge! THANK YOU! »

If you don't do anything about it. I will go see somebody who will listen.

And BELIEVE ME!! I've done it before! For Star Trek: Armada! I've won! And Right Now! I'll do anything to FIGHT FOR OUR RIGHTS to have STAR TREK: BOTF II on XBOX 360 or another Star Trek: BOTF will take it's rights in the Star Trek UNIVERSE!! I will do it for the honors that it deserves! BOTF is the only thing I care about right now in the STAR TREK UNIVERSE. So, if you don't... I'll go right up to Mac-Doc who I'm sure will listen to me. This guy who founded Mac-Doc software is a great person! I'm sure, he'll listen to me if he has the first time I called up a PETITION with lots of names to have it.

Fascinating....
IMHO, it is irrelevant... For me, anyway. I'll never own an xbox.
The interface problem can be overcome.
The turn-based-console-game problem can be overcome.
Both are just a matter of clever designing.
What's more to the point, though (for me) is the fact that xbox is propriatory... And I'm mostly again' it.
Still, if someone wants to make it, more power to them... But I wont buy it.

I did it for the saving option to installed on ARMADA 1. Anyway, if you don't do anything. I have the means to take it higher than these two little forums. I swear to god that I'll do it! I want it so bad. So, I will take all the means necessary to make it happen. With or without you I can live! PouwaaaHAHAHA!!!
