I have a few other models on my plate but hope to build the Borg "Coffin" soon. That would give us all the Borg ships on the new list plus one.
Quote: Per MOE As for the "Coffin", this was a transport or something that was seen in Voyager. I think Janeway was after a Transwarp thingamyjig so she transported a photon on board to wipe out the drones...but it went wrong and she ended up blowing up the ship!
The Borg Coffin was also in Star Trek Armada - it was a Destroyer type, and the Borg's equivalent of the Defiant. Cheap to produce, fast, and much more heavily armed and shielded than scouts. They suffered from a lack of energy reserves and power generation though, so wouldn't last long in a fight on their own.
Be all that you can be. Join the collective.

Better yet - do it better yourself. I think you can. I am not going to spend any more time going back over these bases. There are still a lot of models to build and I will never please everyone. In the end the devs chose what to use and not you or me.

Went over the shiplist again...some things are not right here...
First of all my romulan ships all link to the same picture (D'Bora). Where are these 2:
http://www.ferrium.org/trashman/RomulanLightC.jpg
http://www.ferrium.org/trashman/rombb3gy3.jpg
Second - I have a working Vor'cha (the normal one) from M.Pain with his permission to use it..
And what happened to the Nieerh and Kerchan? (and the Firehawk)
And an addition of EXTRA ships - that is ship that while done, aren't in any category ATM (but can be put there later...like the Galaxy-X or Norway..and I even have a done Achilles class (also by M.Pain))

The base itself looks great...great texture and everything, only the head kinda stands out...have you uploaded it to sharepoint? If so I can tweak it a bit if you don't want to

Please feel free to work with any of my models. Everyone is welcome.
It is a combination of new and some of our old elements as you can see.

Here's a simple concept for hte Romulan Starbase:
Not sure what to do with the bottom...
EDIT - has anyone managed to get a hold of the klingon Kron class Heavy Destroyer? It's NEAT.

I haven't heard of the Kron class. I did a google but all I could find was a couple of small, grainy images - and each of them was a diferent design.
Any pictures you could give would be cool, Trashman. I don't want models if we haven't got a place for them in the shiplist mind - but you could always do one as a mod ship for people to download themselves later should you want to...
In fact, if you've got the time, you could upload the Norway and Achilles as mods. Definitely cool that you managed to get MajorPayne's models. He's a good modeller.
...
I'd LOVE to start posting updates guys, but I can't until Nem or Jig can figure out a way to increase the max post length. If they can't do that, i'm gonna have to make a new thread and split the shiplist across about 8 posts. (One for each of the different race groups - Federation, Klingon, Romulan, Cardassian, Dominion, Borg, Minor, and Monsters/Aliens) I'd rather not have to do so though.

well, I was thinking something alittle simpler. Get on IM if you'd like, i have some ideas I woudl like to throw your way also
I was thinking something like this:
Split the thread, all the posts after the first one. Take the first thread (the one with one post in it), and post a second post. Then merge the first and second threads, putting the second thread after the first one.
You basically add a post after the first post of the thread, thus solving your problems

The Kron
http://www.staryards.com/Downloads/Ship ... n/Kron.htm
EDIT - The Norway is allready up, but I'll upload the Achilles and a strange klingon ship that looks like a love child of a D7 and Vorcha (file is named Vorcha Mk2).

In english -make a new thread - FIRST post is a detailed Feds shiplist, SECOND is Klingos, THIRD is Romulans, etc etc...
This thread we can keep to post updates and pics and discuss
EDIT - I'm working to improve my Fed. Starbase and Galaxy/Galaxy-X models. Mopre polys...smoother...nicer

Thanks Trashman and it is like looking in a mirror! The mesh you created is nearly identical to the first design I had tried for this edition of Romulan Starbase. I can just step back to that and followup with your helpful links.
Thanks Jig for doing the Coffin. That will save any duplication and you will do a better job than me anyway. Keep up the good work.
I have tried not to delete any ships Trashman but some have changed from the class name to the Type name. (that naming is used on the ship list and the tables that Defedz has set to balance the fleets ship abilities.) With two different naming conventions at work I will try to convert all names to include both type and class so there is not any confusion. If you have some ships we have lost please put them up on SharePoint.
I did a little math on our progress. Counting only major races for ships and station loaded to SharePoint we should be winding up work on the fleets around this time next year. This is assuming we maintain this rate of ship production, estimate does not include models loaded without a slot on the ship list but the estimate does include ships and station that are working meshes without texturing applies. There are a lot of variables but it gives you some idea of work that is ahead of us.

There is more math... according to Dafedz database minimum 60 minors need ships at least one type some two.

The main point is that we're getting there. 1-2 years is the MINIMUM that we're looking at for a proper release anyway - so that would fit in nicely.

No need to repeat.
I guess that's what i'm gonna have to do. It won't take me long to do, but it'll have to wait until tonight as I've got to get ready for work in about 5 mins. I've got the entire list saved in a text file anyway, as I said so earlier. All it needs is Kenenth and Trashman's most recent updates.

Hehe...we're moving along (now that I'm back, we're moving at warp 9)
If anyone has a converter for SFC you can D/L the Kron from the link I posted and convert it to 3ds or some other format..then we can use it

It's better to go slower at Warp speeds and not get lost though!
Why do you need an SFC converter, Trashman? There are two versions of the model in that link and one of them is for a 3DSMax 3.1 version.
I'll download the Kron tonight and get some pictures. If you didn't know by now, I've got Starfleet Command 2.

I prodded siggi in the other forum to maybe give us his self-made botf meshes unsliced, unarmed & unafr.. though extremely low-poly as he says it may be easier to high-poly them than to create those meshes from scratch again. There are some Dominion ships and a nice-looking Excelsior among those he did. Have a look at the UDMII-Thread in the botf afc forum for screenies and all..

The time frame sounds good to me. Some times I try to jump to transwarp and the models start looking like predigested Neelix stew. - we want more quality over total quantity.

Now I now the guy who makes that and I'm gonna aks him if he can contribute some lower-polay meshes...the ship there have 10000+ polys for LO0, but lower level LODs are simpler

10,000 should be OK for the outposts, starbases and other stations that do not "move."
