Version 0.0.0.2...is this the game that you mentioned about Mike? :?

(Yes, I am a freak for remembering something by its' version number and not the name!

Welcome to the site, ChaosSpeeder. :)

Hopefully your name will bear no damage to the BOTF2 project!

Yes, Andre is the lead developer of Majesty of Omega, which I mentioned in the general chat forum.

I'd be more worried about the chaos that comes from me speeding, matress:

The other driver was actually at fault in that accident. He pulled out in front of me (perpendicular) with no warning when I had the right of way. But I was going pretty fast ;).

On the upside, my car was totalled, so I get to order a new one. I think I'll go for the 335i this time .

'I guess the BMW wasn't that bad choice after all eh? (overall german cars have a reputation to be crash-safe, passenger cell looks clean and btw. you shot quite a hole with it in that chevy (assuming that pick-up is one) :D)!

Yeah, I had no injuries at all, save a slight friction burn on my left hand from the airbag. And BMW Emergency Assistance was on the satellite link talking to me within about 5 seconds of the impact. They already had my GPS location, and they dispatched the police and a tow truck for me. I was really impressed :D.

You get what you pay for then...or what the other persons' insurance company will pay. Your priceless custom modifications to that car were ruined, weren't they Mike?

...

Cool then, we have some more programmers on the forums. With some luck we'll be rolling out the games within a few months now...and you can implement more of my ideas, Mike.

The car didn't have any custom modifications--it was perfect already ;).

To clarify the things: The name ChaosSpeeder is taken from one of my favorite games: Sid Meyers Alpha Centauri. It is a Civilization Game in a science fiction scenario. At mid game, you gain access to chaos theory and new chaos weapons. The Chaos Speeder is a vehicle, which you construct in the unit workshop of the game.

I found the name funny.

Hi Mike,

good luck, that you taken no further injuries caused by this accident .

To Supremacy: I haven't played the original birth of federation from micropose, but Mikes Remake is very interesting. Maybe I should look after an old copy of that game. Master of Orion in a star trek universe is very interesting.

@ChaosSpeeder: The game is no longer for sale, since Microprose went under, but you can get a CD image of the game from the Downloads section of the BotF site at Armada Fleet Command,(http://www.armadafleetcommand.com/botf). You'll have to register first.

@cdrwolfe: He thought he might have had a broken leg, so he was taken off in an ambulance, but I don't think he actually broke anything.

You're missing my point, Mike - Your priceless custom modifications to that car were ruined, weren't they? You'll have to go into great detail to the other persons insurance company about just how much it cost you to get them done, right?

I think you'd want more than belongings insurance if you tried that. You'd definitely want life insurance...and a deflector dish powered by Omega particles...

...

I've never played Alpha Centauri, but i've heard a lot of good things about it, even if it's getting a bit old now. Some games are like fine wines though, the older the better.

I wasn't making any fun about your name Chaos, I was just implying that chaos might not be a good addition for a fan-based project... :P

You can download BOTF from AFC as Mike said - but it's illegal to do so if you've never bought the game. I imagine most people don't care about that, though.

If you really want to buy it, check ebay and so on. BOTF is quite a rare find, although there are a few up for sale at the moment. They're all selling for around £15+, but i've seen it go for as high as £50...

I love multiple convos, I do.

If you're lucky, you might even be able to find the German version of the game somewhere :).

And Matress, technically it's just as legal (or illegal) to download the game regardless of whether or not you've purchased it in the past. At least in my country (you know, that big, loud one that likes to toss bombs around and blame the middle east for its problems).

here at us downloading a copy of what you already own ain't illegal when 1) you don't upload it whilst downloading (P2P) and 2) you don't crack any copysafe.

anyway I got the german version (english (uk) double-language version btw.) but that won't help I know ;).
