I'd have to agree with Skeeter, though when broken up parts look really good, when joined together it doesn't seem to fit. I like the Scarab shell / container part though.

Good point Skeeter. One of the suggestions had been to give the ship more Dominion like nacelles. What I used is from one of the ships made by Models Please. I added the scarab features trying to do the same.

Why not show us how to do it better. I know you can Skeeter.

I have made some estimates based on the rate that we have produce ships in the past. With the few people contributing models (and when I was only working on original models) it would take over ten years to fill the ship lists. ( more like thirteen to fourteen years )

By downloading models we can get permission for and with the help of new modelers like Models Please and yes by bashing we can hope to reduce that completion to eleven months or so from now. I hope we can live up a one year time line. With your help we can make it happen. This is the Colonyship I for the Dominion until someone does a better job with it.

Image

Good point Zeleni. We can add in the Shrike Class for the Romulans as extra models for now.

Thanks Malvoisin.
I am looking into a one month free trial of software that can convert that max file type to one we can use.

This needs some work. The poly is low and the nacelles are not very Klingon. It could be improved to a Klingon Transport with some refit.

Models Please did this Klingon base. It is a little low poly for our needs but he can look at it when he gets back. For now I put it in as the Klingon Starbase II and moved the other bases around to fill up the slots.

I still haven't gotten round to doing the updates; been busier than I expected.

For the scarab ship, I think getting rid of the big tanks would be a good start. The other sections aren't too bad to be honest. It would certainly look better if the entire thing was retextured though. You can plainly see it's a kitbash due to the different textures.

If the ship is going to be an early ship, I'd keep the textures in keeping with the front pincer part of the ship - light and pink with yellow bits. If the ship is going to be a more recent design though, I'd make the textures more in keeping with the Nacelle section - dark and purple with very dark blue bits.

My MS Paint skills are rubbish, so don't even think about asking me for example textures, but I can get rid of the tanks.

...

I'm liking the Klingon station, and the freighter is the Dilithium freighter from Armada. Good choice of model as the Klingon freighter.

All good points. When there are as many people working on the models as there are pointing out ways to make them better the suggestion can be implemented.

This is as far as I got working on the Romulan Starbase One before I lost interest again. If you have specific suggestions they are welcome. I am not sure when I will get back to it again though.

It is on SharePoint if you want to work with it. If you want to make your own please do. If not you can just flam.

This is as far as I have gotten with the Klingon Shipyard III at this time. It is on SharePoint if you want to rework it before I get back to it. You can also make your own version. Sorry if you do not like it.

I did a lot of clean-up work on the SharePoint image library 270x225.png files for major race ships and bases. Some were 2 dark or 2 fussy. You should be albe to see more detail.

I know the Bolian's are blue but could not find much more about their ships. I hope these models work.

I found this classic bit of Federation history and made it available as the Federation Transport I. It is a low poly model but with some work it will look good in the early game.

Zeleni - I created the ShearPoint folders that will be needed for all the minor race ships. You will see that those that need two ships are also labeled as (empty 0 of 2) or (1 of 2) or (2). Now we have a new way to see the size of the job ahead.

I put this in as the second Pakled ship

I've got a Zip file of every Ship image from sharepoint plus others i've found from the web if it would be any help, couldn't upload it to sharepoint though as it kept timing out.

That would help with picking and building minor races. The SharePoint images I can see on SharePoint but the others will help. Can you load it as a multi-file upload? (use of the SharePoint milti-file upload depends on what software you are ruining on your PC) Otherwise it would be image by image.

Or you could post them in a new thread by [img] link

If anyone has a Vulcan or other model ready to go we have a place to put it on SharePoint.

I found this and put it in as the CORVALLEN FREIGHTER.

It should look like this

If someone has the time to redo or replace it the model is on SharePoint

(hey! that is MOE On the right and Winter on the left!)

Great idea Ken, labels will speed up our work! Your Klingon shipyard looks also great.

@Wolfe- Once we finish all modeling of minor ships I can take them in 3D Studio Max for adding engine glow and starlight on nacells and rendering in accurate position.

@Ken- The ship you labeled as Karemma Ship is Orion canon ship

- and canon Karemma ship is on my hard drive so we got 2/2

- As far as I know your Bolian Ship is canon,...so keep up great work!

OH - Thanks. I will move the Orion to it's folder and you can upload the real KAREMMA later.

Actually Kenneth, i'm standing in the middle of the image...personal cloaking device, i'll have you know. Winterhawk is currently performing his duties ON the Pakled ship.

...

Guys, if we're getting images off the web, we're gonna have to be careful about copyrights etc. We're already toeing the line with the Trek licence. Let's not make things any worse!

Keep up the hard work, we're definitely getting there. We might have some news to announce soon regarding the models that you guys might be interested in - and i'm not talking about having a working combat system before you ask! Nothing has been finalised yet, but once things are a bit more concrete we'll let you know what it is that i'm talking about.
