I noted my name displays next to the major race as I pick it. I take it this is to shows who is playing that race? In a multi-player we would see other player's names?

When I try to play the game it freeze -crashes my system after a few turns.

I have been spending most of my time on models so I may have missed something you have already said about this. Could it be something I missed about the installation?

the name thing is for multiplayer-identification yes (just your computer name from control panel -> settings).

the crash shouldn't happen (of course ;)). can you shortly elaborate how it happens? only on turn ends? or plain randomly? might be a firewall or security program that blocks execution of bote on your comp. definitely something that needs fixing :).

It happens on clicking turn after a few to as many as 20+ turns. I will try turning off security and running it again when I get off work. I did not do anything about, what was it, port 777?

you can take any port you want (as long as it's not blocked by anything ;)), the 7777 is just the standard one since it's mostly empty.

hm, a crash on turn end, we had a few of those on the previous alphas. Hope we can get this one fixed too!

I turned on "game mode" but it still froze my PC. It takes a reboot to get going again. This time it was not on taking a turn. I have never gotten to 30 turns.

Now I turned off security all together. I played for 28 turns then it shut down the game with an error message. This kind of error did not crash the whole PC. I saved a screen print with some more info. I will put it in an error folder on SharePoint Documents. It started out with BOTE.EXE app Ver 1.0.0.1, ModName fmodex.dll, ModVer 0.4.6.17 Offset 00004943.

I could not find the temp file noted in the screen shot

I have tried the control a and control c and highlight but could not copy out the text in that way. The error files are not being recorded to the temp folder. I did screen print a few more pages and uploaded it to SharePoint.

That's a problem in the fmodex.dll file. I will upload a newer dll in the english BotE installer. There you can replace the older one. Maybe that should help.
