26521 views now... ... Yes Mike, the Stars are showing up in the system view, even though the fog of war is covering them up on the galactic map. The planets around these stars aren't showing up in the system view though so it isn't too bad. I've still got the previous version of my game (I've learned my lesson hehe) and the problem is in that version as well. Maybe you fixed it, then 'unfixed' it without realising in a later release?

I probably "unfixed" it when I changed the stars. I definitely fixed it at some point. And I just fixed it again.

Hello, sir. Just a minor question.
Erm, was the music volume supposed to go all the way down to -10%? Or is it an insider joke? lol...

-10%? I can't get Supremacy to do that...HOWEVER, I can make it go up to 101% volume...something not right there...

Hmm...I tried again, and i'm still getting 101% - but not -10%. What version of the game are you using, SeaBee? I have the latest version and i'm getting a bug, but I certainly can't get -10% so maybe the bug has been partially fixed in the latest release?
Actually, does any sound/music play when you're on -10%?

I'm using the latest version as well, the 10-29 release with .net 3.5 beta. Well, I think it's just a minor glitch as when the volume is -10%, the next click to the right will increase the volume to 10%. Same goes for the 110%, the next click to the left will reduce the volume to 90%. The program still thinks that the range is between 0% - 100%, so no biggie.

lol @ the volume bug . I just made a change to that "slider" control, so I'll have to go back and double check it. It must not be coercing the value correctly (clamping it between the minimum (0.0 or 0%) and maximum (1.0 or 100%)).

Margus, the two cheats are intentional - they were added during an early release of the game for testing purposes. They will be removed by the final release dont worry.

Keepchecking out the forums and keep posting. Community involvedment is what keeps us going. I see, glad to hear it! The version I tried way way back when actually needed the internet, musta been ages ago! (Or maybe it never needed internet but I decided it did because my NetMeter showed traffic when it was processing every turn and it only used about 40kb/s). BTW off on a tangent here, does anyone else see Joined: 2424/1212/04040404? For some reason everyone's joined dates show up like that for me.

It may be a while before I get to actually play the demo and get to work... The .net Framework download speed is hovering around the 50k speed for some reason and the estimate for that speed was over 2 hours

Just got everything set up and the game looks good. Unfortunately the summary screen flashes so fast that parts of it seem almost transparent.

@cdrwolfe: Yes, did the CTP expire? That may kill the editor. I need to go back and remove it.

yes sadly, only seems to effect the civilization tab, though clicking on any race causes it to crash.

One quick thing before I forget about it... Would it be possible to add buttons that would allow people to get back to the galactic screen without having to hit the escape button on the keyboard or go through any menus. The current set up just doesn't feel very smooth considering that just about everything in the game can be done with just a simple mouse click on the screen somewhere.

I was just going to post about Wolfe's problem, Mike. I'm getting a screen about something being expired too. Again, it's only appearing on the Civilization tab and causes the editor to crash.

Don't worry, I removed the expired component from the editor (and fixed a couple other problems with it). I'm uploading a new release right now.
EDIT: Ok, it's uploaded. See original post.

Mstrobel do you use DirectX when programming Supremacy.

cdrwolfe wrote: Mstrobel do you use DirectX when programming Supremacy. Yes and no. The UI framework that I use for the Supremacy Client performs its rendering using Direct3D. However, I do not access any of the DirectX APIs directly. In other words, there is no DirectX code in Supremacy, but Direct3D v9.0c is required by the .NET Framework v3.x, so you cannot run Supremacy without either one. The UI system will attempt to use hardware acceleration whenever possible, so if you have a modern video card, everything in Supremacy should be rendered with hardware acceleration by Direct3D. The only exceptions I'm aware of are the translucent windows and popup menus, though this will be fixed in the .NET Framework v3.5 final release. I have the hotfix for hardware accelerated translucent windows and popups, and I can confirm that they're now rendered in hardware. BTW, the galaxy map rendering is much faster in the latest release (hit F12 in a huge galaxy to see how quickly it updates itself). I'm still trying to figure out why the turn processing is taking so long, but at least now I can eliminate both the turn processing logic and the UI updates as potential causes. If I can't track the problem down directly, I can track it down through the process of elimination .

I have tested diplomacy menu, it looks great Mike! Although there is small glitch... clicking on diplomacy/offers/ tribute... menu is too transparent... you'll see.... apart that, top grade!

I agree about the Tribute window being too transparent. It's strange, though, as it uses the same translucency level as the other translucent windows, and they all seem fine. Oh well, I'll fix it anyway.

"Hello Because we (the Bote Team) want to remove all Star Trek based content from BotE, we have decided to remove all BotE downloads temporally too. So you are not able to download any BotE stuff from this forum. We want to remove the current content because of possible licence problems in the future. So we make our own content. But Star Trek and BotE isn't dead. Maybe the community creates a Star Trek modification for BotE. But we don't want to host these files until the licence problem isn't solved. regards Sir Pustekuchen " Well that doesn't bode well. *Cough* no Pressure *Cough* Also don't go getting any similar ideas, else me and MOE set our disrupters to Kill Regards Wolfe
