The ships we can get permission for, the ships we have time to build and what we would really like to see in the game.... Other than that never explain a joke. It will only get you in more trouble.

I like it, is it based on a model seen on screen? What programs do you use btw?

It takes three programs for me to do this. MilkShape: I paid for this one online. It builds the mesh but is not good for applying textures Ultimate Unwrap 3D: It does OK applying the texture. I may be able to get you a copy if you need one. GIMP 2.2: It is a free download to build textures. A lot of the models are converted downloads from sits like this. http://www.battleclinic.com/docks/dock. ... 0&r=pirateWe need to check the readme files for permission on downloads. Using these models helped me build up a library of texture items that can be reused on other ships. Here is an outline on mesh 3D programs that Skeeter put together. viewtopic.php?f=9&t=885I can not recall seeing a Klingon Starbase in other than games so felt free to make it up on my own. The bases in BOTF were very low poly. It made them look very odd to me.

Major Race Ships and bases no yet under construction - as far as I know: (This list does not include models needing texture, reworking or replacement. It does not include the minor races. Refer to the Shiplist for the class name that goes with the ship type.)
Borg: Completed (well not really a major race as such but it still feels good to say completed.)
Cardassian: ( Jigalypuff is building all the Cardassian ships while some others are working on stations and bases for the cards) Colonyship I Colonyship II Colonyship III Cruiser I Cruiser II Cruiser III Destroyer I Destroyer II upgrade (Destroyer II is complete but we need it’s upgrade) Dreadnought II Dreadnought III Fleet yard Heavy Cruiser I Heavy Destroyer I Heavy Destroyer II Science Station Scout II Starbase I (needs work) Starbase II (under construction - Kenneth of Borg) Survey Ship I Survey Ship II Survey Ship III Transport I Transport II Transport III
Dominion:
Fleet yard Outpost I Science Station Starbase I
Federation:
Fleet yard Frigate I Shipyard III
Klingon:
Colonyship II Destroyer II Destroyer IV Science Station Transport I
Romulan:
Destroyer I Medical Frigate II Shipyard I Shipyard II

Somewhere on sharepoint should be .rar file with all original Botf meshes in 3ds... maybe they can help you!

? Comes back online, Kenneth? Has there been problems with Sharepoint? It's working at the moment... If there are any problems let Mike know about them. I had trouble logging on a few weeks ago, but I haven't noticed any problems with error messages or the like...

@ MOE: Very now and then SharePoint will be down for a few minutes. @ Zeleni: Thanks again. Most of the old BOTF stuff is very low poly but with a little work we could adapt it. Like bashing new nacelles onto an old Romulan ship to make a medical frigate. It will take some more work to finish but that will come.

hm, I accidentally stepped over a nice trek model for the oberth while requesting permission to use another artist's work for our new content, here it is: http://www.mattwood3d.com/downloads/index.htm resp. http://mattwood3d.com/gallery/STI2.htm. Can we use that one? and here's the message I got from him today: Matt Wood wrote: Hi Malvoisin, I don't mind at all but I don't own the copyright on many of the images so I can't grant legal permission. I doubt you will have any problems though, most images are owned by companies that went bust. Unfortunately I'm incredibly busy for the foreseeable future so I won't get a chance to look at your game for a long time. Good luck with it though!

Fireball has already made a BEAUTIFUL model of the Oberth - he made it quite a while ago actually. If the files aren't on sharepoint, send him a PM or email. I'll kill him if he hasn't still got it.

We have this one on SharePoint. The one above looks great. Why not kill Fireball anyway. We also have the Cardassian outpost II and an old BOTF transport

DS9 - You can't play Star Trek without one. It still needs a lot of work but it is taking shape. (Thanks to Zeleni for finding the model used in the TV series - helps a lot)

Sure I can do some, the art part is quite fun, its a nice break from coding.
:O you're churning out models every day, and they look pretty good!

LOL I can't believe I went and made this. If I could just do the same effects in XNA... I'm gonna play with the rest of the Vulcans ships now

Excellent!! Here is our Minor Ship Database (so you can see what we need): http://www.botf2.com/Shared%20Documents ... tabase.xls Can you render ship in this position? 270x225 and fully transparent like this?

Looks nice. It would be nice to make a video for the game once we have the combat engine.
