I'm developing a new method of rendering scenery. I've started developing background scene renders in Mojoworld 3 Professional, and then the starship/structure models are rendered in 3D Studio Max 7, using the aforementioned background. A little eye candy for you.

Ooh nice background! Not so sure about the Sovvie though. Something looks a little...off. I don't know if it's the lighting/shadows, or the ship itself though. Meh, maybe it's just me.

Good work, Razor! :bigthumb:

Deflector area looks a little over lit other than that it looks superb. :)

Yeah... the Sovvy was just an afterthought, and it wasn't lit properly. I threw in a couple quick omni's in 3DS Max, but didn't spend any time fine tuning the lighting. Unfortunately, while Pandromeda's Mojoworld creates stunning terrains, it doesn't render models well, as seen here.

By contrast, a quick render in 3D Studio Max.

Again, while I did not take the time to light the Voyager scene properly, the end result is evident.

Mojoworld can be used to render ships quite nicely - you just need to spend a little time getting the lighting and settings right.

I'll render some images in a little while to demonstrate.

Look forward to seeing that, Zack! I'd rather hoped it did something other than render environments. Of course, being an old Max man, I've only recently begun playing with MojoWorld, Lightwave, Maya and VRay. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Yes, I *think* I can see the difference in those two images, Razor.

Can't you make the background in Mojoworld and the model in Max, then merge the two? You would get the best of both worlds then. :)

That's exactly what I did in that render, Moe. ;)
