Malvoisin is right, Kahlest - there are patches over on the BOTF forums that fix the game so it works on Windows XP!

...However, I say patches because there are several of them, and for a reason. For some unknown reason, there isn't a patch that works for everyone. Some people need patch 1, while other people need patch 2. You will also need to update your game to version 1.02. (If you have the American version - the English/German version has the updated version already on the CD) There is no way to predict which version of the XP patch that you will need, so you're gonna have to try both. And even then there is a (Small) possibility that your game still won't work after you've tried them both. Don't worry if this happens to you though, because there are some very talented people on the forums - such as Joker - that may be able to figure out what is going wrong for you.
You can also download a .iso version of BOTF from the site. This will allow you to play the game without your CD - and it will run waaay faster than normal to boot, since no disk access is required. This unfortunately doesn't fix the memory leak in the game though. There is no way to fix this.

If you download the .iso image, you will need to download a mounting pogram as well, such as There are other programs out there, but Daemontools is easy to use, and most importantly is freeeee.

You can find information on how to install the .iso in Sorry I can't give you the links to download the patches and the .iso but the BOTF forums require you to be signed up to and logged into the forums before any links will work.
You can also download Supremacy from
