Don't know, we are first going to fix some other things. But i don't see why we wouldn't get some of the old icons back.

I preferred the old emoticons as well. I can remake the extra emoticons that I made as well (Thumb Wink, Thumbs Up, Big Thumb, Shifty, Silenced, Love, Mischief, and Nahuh) if we can't get them back, but Irfanview doesn't support alpha channel so someone's gonna have to add in the transparencies for me if I do that.

I think it does support alpha channel. Go in the options menu and activate alpha channel somewhere in the settings there..

Hmm...I just looked and I couldn't find a specific option to do so, Mal. I did find an option that was turned off that was a bit ambiguous though: "Apply alpha blending effect between images". I've turned that on now. If you know of any others that should be turned on though let me know.

in irfanview 4.10 there is under options->viewing a tag "show png alpha/transparent color". Click that on and you have transparency on (although on a black background of course but saving transparent images should work then). Of course in gimp this is much better implemented and visualized with the grey grid symbolizing transparency.

That option IS turned on, Mal. Mike must be lying about the problems with Irfanview. :P

when you save any pic as png in irfanview via the save dialog, you get an extra option window in that dialog where you can click on "save transparency color". If you check that and click on save, you can select a color from the pic to be turned into transparency. try that ;). of course, as I said, this is all nicelier done with gimp where you can fine-tune your transparency layer resp. alpha channel and not just pinpoint one color which is then removed from the whole picture (like black for example in most cases).

I think the fine-tuning is what Mike is on about. I always select the colour for the transparency. Silly Mike.
