Mike, will this work? Can the auto updater work on dial up?

What kind of PC do you have plasticpanzers? Give us the data and we will see if you can run this game.

Would you be interested in doing some work on the game? I would be happy to try burning you a CD and mail it if Mike says it will work. Could you do some writing or other work of game in return? Here is a list of jobs:

Well, the original poster was asking about BotE and not Supremacy, but yes, the update service will work over any internet connection. It should also be immune to disconnects (in the sense that a half-downloaded update will not corrupt the game). The updates will not be applied until they have been completely downloaded and verified.

If the original poster wants a copy of Supremacy, I would recommend that someone who has the game (and has applied the latest updates) simply zip up their game folder, burn it to disc, and mail it off. You should first do a test by unzipping the game into a new folder and ensuring that it runs, of course.

plasticpanzers be aware bote is currently de-trekked, it has had all trek content removed. if you still want it let us know what part of the world you live in so whomever is closest can zip, burn and snail mail it to you.

I would prefer in that case that you go to a local internet café with dsl speed, download the game and copy it on a usb stick there. or mail it from there to yourself. I think that's the best way since it should work in all cases.
