This is the first 've heard about it. I was always planning to go there one day when I actually had a job and the money to go. Now my dreams have been crushed. Alas Star Trek: The Experience, I never knew you.

Nah no luck yet. Perhaps Matress_of_evil isn't a good name to put on a job application form.

 lol
So what kinda jobs are you looking for? maybe we can keep an eye out for jobs for each other, at the moment I browse job sites a lot, almost half the day is just browse, send job applications, phone up and such :/ check email every hour hoping for a reply.

PS Got a reply phone call today :D for the role of junior trainee c# developer for a local financial software house (just 3 miles away!!) I used Java at university but I told them about the C#/XNA stuff I've been doing here for BOTF2, and he seemed satisfied with that, and said they actually prefer people who have done some "home study" teaching themselves how to code.

I'd agree with adding anything you feel can be helpful to your CV coding wise, I added a seperate sheet of software i developed, and lets be honest it probably wasn't the greatest ;) but i feel it did help in getting me to the interview stage.

MOE, do you mention anythig about your work here for BOTFII?

Regards Wolfe

Sorry there are no more Star Trek jobs in Vegas.

It was a fun attraction. I like the original most for it's simulation of being transported onto the TNG Enterprise. You walked into a room with transporter pad lights on the floor. There was a sudden total back-out with sound effect. When the lights come up they did a set change and you are in the big E's transporter room. They send you off to the bridge and then shuttle bay for a flight simulation. The Borg Voyager era attraction was similar but based on a 3D movie with the simulation. Very nice eye candy. It was all dated by 2000.

I am thinking more will come once the new film is out. Back in the 80s there was a Star Trek attraction at the Universal Studios Tour. A few people in the audience got to dress up as Federation or Klingon and film your own episode. I was Klingon, Qapla'. You could by the clip on video tap after the show. You will need a job to pay for the tap. Good Luck!

Nah I don't mention BOTF2 coz it's not really relevant to my job. I'm (Or at least hope to be) an Environmental Health Officer - basically the people on the other end of the phone when you phone the council about your noisy neighbours, or the dodgy takeaway that gave you food poisoning last night, or the strange barrels that have the word "toxic" written over them that have suddenly appeared in your local park. It's good fun.

Well i disagree, from the looks of it you can gain something from BOTFII :).

I suppose some people might see it stretching the truth or BS but you could mention the fact that you currently work within a community on a large project looking to deliver a piece of online software.

Through ths you have acted as a coordinator and producer in striving to bring the product to completion.

You've had to deal with problems that can arise when dealing with people in a projct such as this, for example the original conception falling through, however you were able to stick with it and eventually through hardwork and the original organised structure and planning that you along with others initiated it was possible for a new developer (MStrobel) to easily assimilate into the orignal design of the game.

I know it may sound corny, and that yes it is not exactly a real job etc but it shows that outside of work you are as motivated, people savvy and dedicated to work on something you enjoy and it isn't exactly a hobby such as stamp collecting ;).

Don't sell yourself to short :) though i'am sure yor not.

Regards Wolfe

And what exactly is wrong with stamp collecting may I ask?!

Nah, i'm not one of those freaks.

In my experience, i've found that mentioning you're a fan of Trek can have the same sort of stigma as saying you colelct stamps. I prefer to simply generalise it to "interest in scifi" and "confident in the use of technology". If they want more info, then they shall receive. :P

So you need an official title here.

Something like Production Manager or Product Continuity and Implementation Officer or just His Highness the Grand High Qapla', Prince of Space Time and All-around Evil Matress.

In honor of your years of devoted service to the Federation

Checkout the video - See a Vulcan cry.

Here is the longest serving member of the crew receiving the Federation flag.

Looks like they will fly again. It should be worth
seeing it updated to the new Star Trek.
MOE, star saving your change for a trip to Vages baby.

The Monopolis in down town Las Vages purchased the Star Trek The Experience props and license.
In Business Las Vegas there is a new feature story on the future of the Neonopolis complex which covers the opening of both a new art museum and the move of Star Trek the Experience. Rohit Joshi, a representative for the owners of Neonoplis is quoted staying:

The museum and the arts center will represent the past and the present and the Star Trek Experience will represent the future.

There are no specific details yet, but the article states that all five components of the Experience will be moving over:

Restaurant/Bar
Shops
Museum of the Future
4-D Theater
Simulator rides
