Don't blame Mike for the lack of death dates. I made the poll as a means of settling the discussion, but I didn't put one on the poll. But it's an option to do so so i'll have to remember in future polls.

The Ferengi are already in the game as one of the most powerful minor races - they will have considerably more special structures and ship designs then most of the other races. If people want them in as an Empire, they will only need to mod the game to do it.

Those are all good ideas for Mike’s game. I, however, trust Mike to see this game through as I would a captain in the Star Trek fantasy. Those ships are not a democracy for good reason.

Mike’s work seams much like my approach to the models. We should push through to a playable beta version base on Mike’s own vision. His beta versions of the game will then attract more interest and more people willing to help. This will make options for other versions of the game doable in a reasonable time-frame. If he stops to redo each new idea in the code we may never get a complete version of the game.

My first version of the models will look like hell but you will be able to play with it. (Borg ships included)

Alea iacta est! The decision is taken! Therefore, since I was the one to suggest the poll, I accept my defeat... and in any case as Captain Mike said the game can be modded!

As much as I would love to have the Borg as a playable race I voted "No".
