you've got the wrong .NET 3.5 version installed. Get the latest .NET 3.5 SP1 RTM version from microsoft and try again.

I had previously downloaded DotNetFx35 from M$ website and installed before running the game, as per the website instructions... I'll try again (or possibly run a repair) just in case...

the problem is that there are several dotnetfx35.exe's out there. some are just beta, others final version with and without sp1. you need the most recent one (date and timestamp is on the files and website where you find the downloads).

SP1 is an additional download that you need, as well as NetFx 3.5

Um... I'm a bit confused...

 The installers (I downloaded both the 'bootstrap' and a standalone installer the first time) both say its 3.5 SP1 in the installation screen...

(I am posting under the assumption that RTM = Release To Manufacturer)
 Why am I getting an RTM version of SP1 if it appears as though SP1 has already been made public... and if I still need to get an actual RTM version of 3.5 SP1, where would I obtain that... I haven't seen anything about it on M$ or M$DN sites... :ahem:

this should be all you need: http://download.microsoft.com/download/ ... etfx35.exe

forget about the RTM remark, the latest one linked above should do it ;).

The first post of the Supremacy Pre-release Download thread where you downloaded Supremacy from also has links to download the version of .Net that the latest version of the game needs. If you ever need to reinstall the game or check for the latest game information, that post is where you will find any relevant information. Mike (The developer) always updates it with that information to minimise confusion.

The game now comes with an auto-updater so you won't need to check there for game updates, although it is still worth checking once a month or so to make sure the requirements haven't changed or to find out what is new in the game.
