Paramount has released the first full image of the new USS Enterprise (NCC-1701, no bloody A, B, C or D)

As far as I can tell from the photo, the ship looks quite nice. However, the deflector seems to protrude a bit too much. Yet again, I may be fooled by the angle...

Parts of that design look very similar to a reimagined concept of the beautiful lady I saw a year or two ago on the internet. But that reimagining was very militaristic. This model seems to have toned it down and gone for a sleeker look, but I can definitely see aspects of that concept I saw, especially in the Nacelles and the "rim" on the neck of the ship. Does anyone else think the Nacelles remind them of the Doomsday device? :P

I'm really not sure about the Nacelle pylons and the neck of the ship though. They're set way too far back and at too much of an angle. It looks like someone put the ship into a trash compactor, changed their mind after the ship had been squeezed a little, then painted her up as best they could. I hope they don't decide to give the same treatment to the Connie-refit in future films, or i'll be screaming bloody murder over it. This sleaker model might be more realistic, but it does nothing for me. I prefer the original.

I also like the small detail in the photo: the nebula seen on the bottom right of the image!

The Enterprise looks really nice.

On the other hand I can't say the same for the new Captain Kirk.

I agree, and to take it another step further, the new Uhura looks really really really nice
