Hi everyone,

well I've had Supremacy running before, but had to reformat since some crash f***ed up my OS.
So I had to redownload Supremacy and now I've got the problem that it doesn't simply update(There is no Update button in the menu and the auto-updater does not pop up either. It is the version from September last yearm since I couldn't find any other download.

Hey Koractu, welcome to the forums! :)

There IS a button to make the game download an update - when you first load up the game, click on the "Options" button then click on the "Updater" tab at the top. You'll see two buttons - click on the "Clear Updater Registry" one first, then click the "Check for Updates" one.

If the game still can't find an update, clear your Temporary Internet Files, then click on Start -> Run and type this: "%temp%/UAB" (Without the quote marks). A folder called UAB should open. If there are any files or folders in the UAB folder, delete them all, then try to update the game again and cross your fingers.

If that doesn't work, let us know. Mike might have some further ideas on what you could try but this *should* work. Good luck. :)

Ah, i've been using the updated version of the game for considerably longer than you guys - Mike was sending me beta copies, so I got used to seeing those buttons there. Sorry about that. :ahem:

Obviously you can forget the bit about clicking the buttons then. Just follow my other instructions; empty your UAB folder. Then, load up the game, but leave it on the menu screen. The auto-updater *should* turn on automatically, because it runs in the background every time you load the game. It can be slow at notifying you of any updates, so leave it for up to 20 minutes. It normally notifies you of an update within 30 seconds (Assuming one is available, if not then nothing will happen), although it's possible it will take longer the first time it connects. Just leave it and see what happens. Fingers crossed it'll work.

Failing that, try temporarily disabling any firewalls you have, and try adding SupremacyClient.exe to your exceptions list. People have had problems with their firewalls in the past blocking updates, but not since several updates ago.

Woo problem sorted then. Have fun, and please let us know your thoughts on the game or if you encounter any problems.
