I shall like knowing if the Bajor system will have its own wormhole? And that if to decide on you to include it, it will have the same property as the other wormholes: cross it?

Yes, we intend to have a Wormhole in the Bajor system. We also intend to have one in the Barzan system. I can't say much more than that though because Mike hasn't yet programmed Wormholes into the game. He's said that he intends to have both stable and unstable Wormholes though, and some may even destroy your ships, just as they did in BOTF...

Assuming we implement a canon map, the canon map will include known wormholes (like the Bajoran wormhole). Typical random maps will not include these wormholes, but will include randomly placed wormholes instead. Wormholes may have two fixed endpoints, one fixed endpoint and one unfixed endpoint, or two unfixed endpoints. Unfixed endpoints may move outside of the galaxy, in which case any ships that enter the wormhole will be lost.

Oh, I thought you intended to add Wormholes to the list of objects that may be added to a system, Mike? That's why I said there would be a Wormhole in Bajor. If you added Wormholes to the list then I could simply add one as a default part of the system.

If you added Wormholes to the list then I could simply add one as a default part of the system. That doesn't really work because the list of possible remote endpoints isn't known at design time. You have no idea which systems and races will be present in the actual game, so there's no reliable/consistent way of specifying where the wormhole terminates.

No one said we had to specify an endpoint. Most people will be happy that Bajor *did* have one, and be able to understand if we can't set it to a specific place. Or perhaps you could set it so the Wormholes are the last thing created on the map, and set it so that predefined Wormholes automatically lead to an empty sector once the rest of the map has been constructed?
