So you say that we can use the klingon court? I got permission from Doug and we have permission to use his work, but I believe that we will be able to use only rejected work because the rest falls under the copyright of Paramount. But I will ask him the next time we talk.

That would be nice, I saw his work on Drex Files he is amazing, he has for shore huge collection of star trek cgi's but we'll see if he is ready to share with us. Good luck with Doug and good night Vjeko it's late.

I work with what I have, Zeleni. You hadn't sent me the Cardassian images and I thought some of the images worked better in other places, and that's why I swapped them over. So far i've been the person ultimately in charge of the images, mainly because i'm also in charge of implementing the database. I know that Dafedz's database seems to shift a lot, but he's updating his database as new ideas get floated around, as well as entering concrete info on the game. So this means some of the information in Dafedz's database doesn't match up with what is intended or will actually be in the game. For example, Dafedz has come up with a number of new buildings lately, such as the individual empire replacements for the Communications Grid. But these are not official or finalised yet. So don't take them as law. Just go by what is contained in my information threads or simply ask me directly about them. I can compile lists easily enough, just as I did with the Federation. I'll try to keep you in the loop as I update them though. Thanks for the image previews as well, i'll upload them to Sharepoint. It's going to be hard to lose some of the existing images that these will be replacing because their creators put so much work into them though. I've worked with some of them for so long that they almost became like old friends. By the way, you're not the only one with a big work area; My BOTF2 folder is 11,380 files in 349 folders, totalling 1.79Gb.

nice catch Starfleet : btw. Zeleni, before scrapping original artwork due to database changes or not being the best image fitting supremacy needs, you may want to store it in a different folder and show it to me at some point. They might still be useful for a BotE pic. just to make sure a last question (even if perhaps asked a 100 times ), are you using star trek screenshots or photos in your pics or anything else copyrighted? I'd like to use those pics for our minor race buildings in bote too. I know it's extra-work but if images that are completely whipped up by yourself and not depicting a specific scene from any Star Trek film or series episode would be marked that way, it'll make it easier for me to sort out which ones have no actual relationship towards star trek but are completely fictional and thus transferable to bote content. At best would be a complete source and credits list below each image. For the Supremacy Credits list in-game that needs to be done anyway. Btw. I also found a nice scifi image page which says: Quote: All the artwork & graphics are the property of the respective artist unless otherwise stated. All rights reserved. Pictures may be downloaded for personal noncommercial use. All other uses prohibited without prior permission from the artist. Depends on what that "personal" means, i.e. if redistribution inside supremacy download is allowed. Nevertheless they got nice pics all along: http://wittswallpapers.com/SciFi/indexgeneral.htmlhttp://wittswallpapers.com/SciFi/cityscapes000000.htmhttp://wittswallpapers.com/SciFi/cityscapes000001.htmhttp://wittswallpapers.com/SciFi/cityscapes000002.htmhttp://wittswallpapers.com/SciFi/cityscapes000003.htm

After few hundered years of thinking conclusion was that judge should interpretate law not in restrictive or extensive way but in right one (they don't know again). So that whole field in continental law is really fluid. I will defenetly use some of images from your pages Malle.

Attachment: dom_ketracel_white_facility.png don't worry, it's already used in BotE dev version as Omegan "Farm" pic . Well about those images I linked, on wittswallpaper you find a list with all artists having contributed to that site. I intend to ask each of them personally for each pic I decide to include in BotE. The only definite answer can come from the artist him/herself . Btw. Microsoft defines it as this: http://www.microsoft.com/info/cpyright.mspx#EEB wrote: PERSONAL AND NON-COMMERCIAL USE LIMITATION.

Malvoisin wrote: btw. I've been doing this already Mal, so don't worry about that. I've attached all of the images that i've "rescued" over the years. Note that some of them are very small images or are simply poor quality. I've also included a folder with BOTF images that i've applied transparencies to. ...Notice the file name Zeleni? Malvoisin wrote: At best would be a complete source and credits list below each image. For the Supremacy Credits list in-game that needs to be done anyway. I've been recompiling the Supremacy credits list before every game release, but I haven't gone into the detail of "person x made image y". I've simply got a section for people that have made image contributions and put all the names under that. It was actually Mike who came up with the system and I simply continued it. I never actually thought about changing it. In all honesty there is no record at all of the contributions people have made in the detail that you suggest. I've attached a copy of the Credits list as it currently stands though: Attachment:

It was just a bit disconcerting that I had spent so long on the images, had written up all of the information posts asking forum users for help, people had made contributions and I had accepted them, and I had arranged all of those images as we had, when you essentially came along and said that all that work was for nothing. But what's done is done. I've uploaded your image previews to Sharepoint and removed the references to said images in the first post of this thread. I'll remove the rest of the references as and when you send them to me. Zeleni wrote: Zeleni, this picture is based on SPACE 1999 designs. it's a fighter launch platform. Oh god I remember that series. Precisely why they were trying to get back to Earth when the loss of the moon would have destroyed life on Earth is anyone's guess. But when it was on, it was great coming home from school and having a bit of scifi on the telly.

usually, in games there are no "person x made image y" credits since all artists get paid, lose their copyright and that's it about the image and them being mentioned as the creator of that image. In case of non-commercial games where the original artists retain copyright, they sure like to have that relationship mentioned precisely. In any case where it is possible and not too much work, I think it won't be a bad idea to do that.

Sorry mate, I was just downloading and didn't have time to keep credit record for each image, I have few thousands images on hard drive, that was simply imposibile job to do. But for two Nezu images i know they were created by famous german acrylic painter, I can't remeber his name but I know that he painted book covers for Frank's Herbert "Dune" novels, i hope this will help. vjeko1701 wrote: They are all excelent but the Xindi council is not correct. alright I'm searching for them myself. Btw. I found the andorian recruiting station: http://www.savinoff.com/home/show.php?id=25&part=3dDmitry Savinoff has released this image also on that wittswallpaper.com page. According to his website stuff is copyrighted but apparently this pic is an exception, at least it's a free wallpaper..

The el-Aurian pic needs to be removed, it's from Starcraft Protoss Mission Briefing (commercial games' pics shouldn't be used): Perhaps it would be better to really scour for every pic once the whole package is complete. Just an "afterwards-checking" if everything's alright with commercial games.

Wow fantastic images Zeleni! It's a shame about the El Aurian one though. No vjeko, we haven't got an image for the Genesis Research Lab, but i'm sure Zeleni will have one. I'll upload your one in the meantime though, along with all of Zeleni's latest images.
