I hope this has not been mentioned before, because that would mean that i missed it. But in BOTF when you are on the system screen there was a keyboard shortcut to move to the next system, rather than using the drop down menu, so question 1 is, is this already available ? question 2, is this possible for future updates ?

In Supremacy, the screens are on these keys: F1----> Galactic Screen F2----> System Screen F3----> Embassy Screen F4----> Science Screen F5----> Intel Screen You can see theses screens in the Supremacy Manual http://botf2.star-trek-games.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=3298#p53984

thank you for that , but i think you have missed my meaning, I meant that in BOTF when you are on the COLONY screen,(build, structure, production, etc) instead of clicking on the dropdown system list, you could use the direction keys to move to the next colonised system. that is what i would like to be able to do, or possibly have a system summary page that shows the stats at a glance for all your systems, with a link to, when you double click on a system name, or some thing like that, just to make the management side a bit more streamlined.

I have to admit that I thought this was already in. I guess not. Mike is already looking for ideas for keyboard shortcuts so i'll definitely pass this on.

Mike hasn't replied yet, so I don't know for definite if Asimoff's idea will definitely make it in. Mike might have other plans for the cursor keys that I don't know about yet. We decided that the Captain is only going to include information in his manual that has actually already been implemented, so even if he says yes, the manual version that mentions the cursor keys won't be released until after the update that includes the feature is released. ...But assuming it is included, yes, congratultations on your first idea, Asimoff.

the up and down cursor keys already move you up and down the build list, but you could use the < > keys to move between planet/systems .

Yeah the TAB key would make a nice shortcut for moving between systems

It could even work in the starmap too, to change focus on systems (and centering the map on them).

It could also be the +/- keys in the colony screen, but those won't do in the starmap, as they're already used for something else (zoom).

As soon as the keys go into the game, the documentation goes into the manual. All good ideas. CB

I spoke to Mike on MSN last night about the game. It was only brief, but he said the update is a long way off yet. He's planning to add in more crash logging so it's easier to identify the cause of crashes amongst other things, and said he's already begun to make major programming changes.
