I got the new texture from you vjeko but am not sure when I can work on it just now. There is also an issue with a section in the body where two mesh parts overlap. It is giving an odd thick black line. I will deal with it but I am not sure how soon. Thanks again for all your hard work. I will see if Blender shows the light map. After that it is up to the combat engine.

Work is not done on this Conestoga class Federation Colonyship. This is all the more that will be done until after the August Convention in Vegas. It was my mistake vjeko1701. I did not refine the UV mesh as much as I should have. Before now I would do all my own texture and polish the UV mesh work as I went along. It still has a lot of duplication. I want to make more room for the detail on the hull like where you added the Federation emblem and name USS Zeleni. That needs to have better resolution. That will all have to wait. I will upload the model as it is later today. Then it is on to fix the png ship and station images for use in the game at Vegas.

Little preview of Cardassian Union Fleet... work is not over lots of ships needs new textures and renders this is only preview of work done by now. You can see on image few ships from classic game botf, they are here cause i think they are excellent for early cardassian ships.

Looks great, but we should retexture the old BOTF ships.

I like their texture, it's not the best but is great for early cards style.

I agree, the old BOTF models were boxy and functional, and that's precisely the image that they *should* have. The Cardassians were ruled by the military afterall and brutally efficient. It's only as technology moved on that they started experimenting with their designs and things started getting sleeker. I've read that some people believe certain DS9-era Cardassian designs were at least partially inspired by leaked design manuals from the Defiant class as well, so there is the effect of alien influences as well.
I like how the colour schemes seem to change over time as well, with early tech ships in yellow, mid tech ships on orange, and late tech ships in brown. It suggests that Cardassian armour platings - or at least their sense of aesthetics - are changing over time too.

Hi chaps, I've done some modifications to the in game ship images for the Dominion. I couldn't seem to find a way to upload them myself, so I'll upload them here for now. Feel free to tell me to upload them myself, if I have the ability to do that.

Thanks for doing all that work. I put the transparent .png in after removing the "sp" form the names. Then I put in a black background and replaced the Image Library images so you can see your work. (left the sp in the name here to tell them apart.)
I will ask Mike about your access. He is the boss of SharePoint.
BTW guys: I can use Explorer View in SharePoint and transfer a load of images all in one action with IE8. That is by opening the Explorer View, opening my image folder and selecting the images, taking copy and then past in the Explorer View window past.

I'm assuming you're using Vista or 7 Kenneth? Explorer view doesn't work correctly in XP. It's a bug in Sharepoint. Microsoft know about it but haven't fixed it. If I try to copy or move files via Explorer view i'm told the folder is read-only. Apparently though i'm lucky that I can even access Explorer view. A lot of people in XP can't even do that. There are threads about the problem right across the net.

Lucky me. I used XP with IE8 and Explorer View worked fine for a load of images. It may have something to do with the subspace disturbance we call Arizona.

It is so good to see you around Trash. It is going well.
Right now I am working on some window backgrounds for diplomatic and espionage features in the game. That is because we need the diplomatic and espionage to make the game more playable by August. Mike is trying to get the game ready to demo as a multiplayer version at the Star Trek Convention in Vegas this August. You are welcome to join us there, Mike, Jean and me. We will have a booth in the vender area.
If you want to work on models we sure could use the help right now. With the time restrictions there still will not be a 3D combat engine by then. I do want to look into the combat engine built for the program Blender. It was developed as freeware just like Blender itself so the guys that did it would understand. They know how to build it and about working for free. More on that later….
So how are you?

Keeping busy. Working as a Junior DBA now. Still burring myself in many modding projects..as usual. I'm terrible when it comes to that. ATM, I have FS2, DA:O and Infinity as somewhat active projects and a whole bunch of inactive ones I'll see if I can squeeze some time to at least do something about some of the ST meshes I have. Too bad that the combat engine is progressing so slowly. At least that gives the team more time for models, no? No way for me to go to that convention tough. A pitty.

What?! In the shop??!? What will we do without Matress??????? Don't worry, I'm sure that Matress's spies are still looking, keeping an eye on us Answer: work, as per usual, it just means I have nobody to send my random event descriptions to for a while.

Hmm surprising that EAS allowed you to hotlink...anyways, that's a fantastic image. It's not often you get Klingon ships that are that detailed. And I love the design references to the Enterprise era B'rel and Raptor. Nice.

Here is an article about that design:
"In Star Trek: The Magazine the issue with the battlecruiser in "Unexpected" was explained: "As Rob (Bonchune) explains, John Eaves had designed a new Klingon ship specifically for this scene. 'It was kind of the same shape as the original Klingon battle cruiser; just a little more primitive. The way John had done it was very much like the original series one, so it had very few windows, and they were small and red. So, when I dropped the ship into the scenes that we had worked out, you couldn't see that it had windows. At the time, it never dawned on me that this would be an issue, but I understand why it is, because in STAR TREK if there are windows they are obvious.' The producers saw the model only a few working hours before the show was due to be delivered. They decided it could only be used with major changes, but after their work on Broken Bow the team was simply too exhausted to work through the night in a desperate attempt to get the shots ready. Instead, the producers made the decision to use an old model. 'We wound up going back to a version of the Klingon ship that had been built for DEEP SPACE NINE,' Mitch (Suskin) says. 'But that particular type of Klingon ship will not be used again, because they decided that it just didn't fit into their vision for this universe.' Rob admits that, he for one, is sorry the old ship was used, but acknowledges there was no alternative. 'As a fan I really regret that that ship is in there, but people were just working too much. After Broken Bow, everyone had already worked so much overtime'."

I downloaded those ships but I do not appear to have a program what will import the model files.

Kenneth of Borg: You probably know this already. But just in case you don't: Milkshape does a good job of converting bridge commander files. It's a good program with loads of supported file formats. With it and Unwrap you're pretty much covered for all the formats out there. (Well... Maybe not *all*.) 30 day trial and $35/25Eur registration. So, it's pretty reasonable. Hope that was helpful and not just a restating of the known. And, just because I want to: (I *LOVE* that little guy! I feel like that SO often! Just seeing him makes me smile.) *Edit: poor grammar.
