Oh and Slim called to say he is nearly done with the Dominion Espionage. It sounds like a very interesting concept. Then all his work is but you know. PS: hoping Mike will have time to get the working multiplayer out this summer. It will increase the level of interest in our game and could help us find more people to work in things like 3D combat.

Thanks for the helpful comments, and sorry to keep posting. I just wanna make sure this is going in the right direction.
Also I don't suppose anyone has any models of Jem'Hadar, founders or Breen i can use to populate the place ? It looks kinda like a ghost town, and i don't know how to model people.......yet.

We love constant updates, so just keep 'em coming. We don't have any Jem'Hadar, founders or Breen, but Kenneth has a human model and romulan modification for the human model. You can ask him for it (her actually) and make the necessary modification. It's not what you asked for, but it's better than starting from scratch.

Here is Juna, she is the best but very high poly. She does not have an armature for posing but she is a good model to learn that with. http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=169042Some low poly people here: (Also see the second page for two by TiZeta) http://e2-productions.com/repository/mo ... .php?cid=1You might find something here http://artist-3d.com/free_3d_models/02a ... design.phpI was able to make the work go faster using the free models as a start point.

Some of the low poly models come rigged. Redo the texture and pose them might be all you need to do. I would send you my Romulans but they are not whole models. As I need only the parts you see in the render half the body my be gone.

This is hard man!!!! I have greatly improved the original ears to Juna. There were a lot of unnecessary polygons in there. I cleaned them up. Also she now has a Cardassian hue to her skin (the only easy part).

Yeah, I have this new appreciation for the CGI guys in the movies. Can you imagine doing Avatar? Blurry-eyed BashirI'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that the Obsidian Order clones its personnel. All 14 of them. BTW. Any suggestions on how to clothe Juna? Any pain you can save me?

Dominion Espionage
It is titled Ekuraas (Ee-coo-raas).
(This is a scaled down version of Slim's original drawing. The full resolution is attached below as a .7z zip file.)
Premise:
The image is based on a rumor about the Dominion and their only base dedicated to espionage by infiltration. Slim has made that a reality. This is the Planet Ekuraas somewhere in the Dominion Space. It is run by a large number of Founders and Dominion Members. After destroying a large gas giant, they booby trapped the surrounding asteroids and use them to conceal this base. Heavily fortified the world is a secret known only to the founders. Only the founders can freely come and go. When there founders can use the complex communications equipment to instantly communicate to any part of the Dominion space. Ekuraas is otherwise so isolated that it relies on homegrown Jem-Hadar cloning. The Jem-Hadar have their own sequestered facilities, including White production, weapons and a large force of vessels. It is nearly impossible to attack Ekuraas for three reasons. 1. It is heavily fortified 2. The large number of armed Asteroids destroy any intruders using various energy sources which close in on Shield signatures. 3. The location is a closely healed secret. Even if any other race heard of the myth it might take decades to locate. The founders also rotate and return to the great link from time to time, so no separatist movements can occur. They operate a well run machine.
Ekuraas (Ee-coo-raas)-The layout:
Slim did this two fold, On the Left is a Founder disguised as a Romulan Spider swooping down, killing the chosen operative and taking their place ready to ambush a Romulan Senator and his men. The image then blends into the surface of Ekuraas. It is both a fortress, city and advanced splendor of knowledge all in one. It has no building structures as such because the Founders do not need an atmosphere, even though Ekuraas has one. As you can see a perspective shot of the pool of Founders, surrounded by Jem Hadar soldiers and Vorta slaves. A Foudner is emerging to greet his Vorta and Jem Hadar Army. On the right are Communication Arrays and Energy Generators along with bubble living quarters hanging down from the upper structure. The background has two Jem Hadar fighters, (I did this on the road and had no reference so place what ever Dominion ships you want..) Massive Planetary Guns are for defense along with the Asteroid belt surrounding the former gas giant they call JX540. I added their logo, not a flag, and plenty of gadgets. Slim will have a color comp very soon. In terms of the game-I explained how the Dominion Espionage should work on many occasions. To me they are the strongest in Espionage because their Founders are undetectable (until proper research develops such a detection weapon) and because they don't use communications to send information during espionage missions. They not only duplicate a person but can impersonate any Espionage spy to that player's unwilling partnership. Their Founders are like watchers, infiltrating, sabotaging and causing havoc without asking for superiors to proceed. Thus there is no turn waiting. They get a choice and the player can choose to do it or let it go. Once they have fully determined there is nothing left to learn about a race or they've stymied a race to a horrible point. Then they return to Ekuraas, join the link there and eventually send all their data through-out the quadrant. You can have the Dominion player build Ekuraas or if established already they can start off with "Dum" founder agents and then as resources are allocated and their missions succeed, increase their prowess and strength to unimaginable levels. If a player plays from the birth of the game Ekuraas needs work, or if a player starts off at a more advanced state. Ekuraas could be more established with founders ready to go. That is up to you.
Slim sends all his Best.

Very nice work. I would have seen it with the close face of a Jem'Hadar (just to highlight)

Slim has now given us ten great layouts for our backdrops. Thanks Slim and a hardy Federation salute to you. Slim says the coloration for the above will come along next. He may also want to clarify on the light sources and color of the Cardassian espionage.

Before I forget to mention it do take a look at how to create a texture image by painting directly on your mesh in the 3D window of Blender. It is a great little tool for image textures. This helps a lot It can come out a little low resolution. Just save the image and open it in a paint program to clean it up.

Here is just an update on work in progress. I have the Romulan Thug to this level so far. The clothing needs to be split out as a new object so I can normal map in a better look to the way it reflects light. Right now it all looks to be made out of glass. I need that top especially to look like a fabric. I was just now working on trying to get a Romulan expression. (Say cheese for the camera Nero.) The second Tal Shiar babe is at about the same stage of development. I just burn out on one part of the job and move over to another to keep from getting bored.

I so... get the "work on it a while and then go to something else" scenario when it comes to doing people. It's tedious. You've done a really nice job here. Envious Bashir

Inching along here is an 800 by 500 reduction. There is still a lot of work to do.

Yes, great, I would just suggest replacing the new image of the senators with something else, like Romulan ship specs or something like that(one wall for the external affairs, and one for the internal affairs)
