Yeah, it's great, we can decide the race later but I agree that the Romulans would be our first choice for it.

Thanks vjeko1701! Looks pretty Romulan isn't it?
What's you say Kenneth_of_Borg? If you also approve, I'll rename it because it will help in knowing which is which instead of writing numbers.
But it's also true that we could decide later.
See ya!

I can not get to it just now but will check it out when I get home. The combat engine does not exist at this point so the race themes and windows music is going in to the game first.

That's ok! vjeko1701! There's no rush, friend. Since I'm doing the windows music, I'm trying to align to the different Races' mood, asking myself: ' What do they listen or play to relax, what music really softens their mood? What would I create if I was them? ' :cardassian: ? So, sometimes I need a little thug on the shoulder, when I "frost' too much! :vulcan: And thanks to you all for helping me.

Me again! You know why I'm uploading here by now.
Here's Mood Music 03, with a little percussion. You can hear big low voices , maybe fit for Klingons.

I know that we already have a different style for the Dominion, but you know what? Listening to this made me feel like playing with the Dominion, it brought back the memory of first seeing the Changelings in DS9. If you agree I would like to change the Dominion theme to this.

I've even got a name for it "The Great Link"

Good choice if you really "linked" to that , so to say. We could also change the name as you wish. There wasn't any name yet, so any one is ok with me. If you're thinking about the security officer that was "collaborating" in DS9 (what was his name?), he was a changeling wasn't he? I saw the program a few times only but I remember him.
THE GREAT LINK is a good title, I agree. As for the choice, anyway, we can always switch if there's any change when the time comes.
We should also ask Kenneth_of_Borg about his opinion, to confirm our choice, because we were all present when we chose first, do you agree?
We could use this new name ( Mood Music 03 » The Great Link_Gino Véziau ) for the Dominion and keep the other one(Dominion Nostrum) for a window screen, for the Dominion also, or in case there would be another use for it. Will you change the name or shall I do it? Either way is ok with me.

I'm happy that you agree! I like it when things are equal for everyone, making good relations.

I just had my new Pip with a title! I LOVE it! I just can't stop admiring it! What great taste! I thank the creator with a biiig BRAVO again! It's a small detail but to me, it's like a big honor! I'm proud of you all guys! It feels to me like we are all linked together by the soul, as artists.

Just got home and we are unpacking. I had a chance to listen to the music.

I agree with our choice guys. Mood Music 3 will make a fine Theme / Galactic map song for the Dominion. I would also suggest that you re-use Dominion Nostrum as the Dominion Diplomatic window song.

Like you I did not pay much attention to DS9 when it first aired. Having gone back and watched it I would say it got better over time much like TNG and Enterprise. Odo was the changeling security officer and the Dominion War phase of the show was very compelling.

I also strongly suggest, Happytrek, that you either make more folders to sort the songs by what we will use them for or you include it in the file name.

Something like Dominion The Great Link - Theme Map - Gino Veziau and
Dominion Nostrum - Diplomacy - Gino Veziau. If we do not it will be a lot harder to remember and for Mike or Matress to get the correct file to load into the game.

Great Work,
:borg:

I could not approve more! You are right. It will make songs more recognizable that way. I will work on it right away, creating folders for the different windows for my songs. The master folder will be named: Themes - Gino Véziau and the sub folders will be classified like you suggested: One folder for each section of the game - each song will be titled for each Empire and purpose since there will be five or six songs for each Major race. I'm still awaiting confirmation for the length of the songs but anyway, they will be sorted also as - Short or Full, in the titles. I will move the ones I made to my folders, keeping only the new, "remixed" ones, also the ones in the General Game music that I will put in mine.

And thanks for finding the name Odo, as the security officer for DS9. Now I remember better. He was kind of relinquish to have any honor and never worked for promotion. It was insulting to him.
Since you agreed with us as for the new name and usefulness, so it will be.
Be with you later friends! Good day!

I have added a new folder in Share Point: Encounters. There are 3 songs inside for now.
It will serve for short versions of the Master Themes and/or short versions for any new Event in the game.
You could check and tell me if it's ok. As I don't know the exact length of the short songs( I'm awaiting Mike's approval), these new ones are about 30 seconds long. I will make even shorter versions for these or other Events as need be. Since some of you can "pre test" these songs I think, I can then estimate the approximate length and maybe help Mike code them faster. Since they will be used in the First Encounters, I estimated that, by the time one reads the Empire presentation, the song will be finished.
If someone can test this, I would be glad.
Thank you!

I am checking out the new music now Happy. Back to you soon.

If anyone has the time would you please take a listen to the music in the Klingon folder on SharePoint? Happytrek and I are trying to put what we have so far into the Galactic Map Theme, Diplomacy, Espionage, Science, Systems – Colony subdivisions.

Do we really have permission to us Inon Zur's Klingon music? It is iconic for Klingon so I would say we should use it as the Galactic Map Main Theme if we can. I like Happytrek's Cloak for Diplomacy, Day to Die for Science, When Faith Burns for Espionage and New Worlds by ericjames for Systems -Colonies. What do you like?

I thought that Klingon Long Music_Inon Zur.mp3 would be perfect for combat engine music.

The Cardassian encounter music is just right. We will see what Mike says about the length. I would choose the Cloak for the Klingon encounter.

We could just hold onto Inon Zur's music until we have a combat engine to play it in. In that case Cloak sounds best to my ear for Galactic Map Theme on the Klingons.

There also has been talk about music for events. This would be something to give drama to say random events. Also encounter of major and minor races. We know it will not be practical for all minor races. We might have one song or rotate songs or have songs based on the race profile or who knows what. We will have to ask Mike what he is willing to code.

Thank you Kenneth_of_Borg! Thank you vjeko1701!
Now songs will be coming a little faster if I can rely on the chosen Main Theme to make my other windows songs. As this step advances, I can work to keep the style of the windows theme as near as the Master song is, to keep the "ambiance" flowing, if I can say so.

I also like 'When faith burns' as an Espionage theme.

So if we use Inon Zur's music for combat then Cloak would be good as the encounter and main Klingon theme.

I will be leaving for China tonight. With any luck I will be online from time to time. Hopefully others will continue to sound off on music choices.

Ok Guys! I uploaded 3 more songs to Share Point. Two are short ones and one is long and could be used as Espionage or Science. Sounds Electronic to me but what to you? I'm gonna need your views on it, and your ears, please.
The two other ones are mostly for Events or Encounters.
Happy listening!

Event 03 long_Gino Véziau.WAV would be great as a background when fighting something bizarre like the Doomsday machine, the Crystalline entity and other stuff like that in the combat engine.

I don't really know what we could fight with that song but, yes, could be. Sounded Electronic to me.

Or maybe Espionage for the Dominion, or even Science for the Cardassians. There's a bit of Desert in it I think.
We'll see if there are more opinions on that. There has to be!
If we can get two or three voices for the same song, we could finalize our choice and classify them.

It reminds me of a Red Dwarf theme when they are fighting against evil copies of themselves. So I think that it would be perfect when fighting unique and strange things.
