I can't really, not for another week or two. School and family...
But just coloring it wouldn't be enough. We would have to build the models of it. Something like diplomatic and espionage windows, only the detail would have to be so great.
I'm free to make the backgrounds for it, that doesn't take so much time.

For now we can use these as working place holders. I do not see taking a few months to build the models just now. In the mean time someone may offer to print this out and paint it in for the game.

Slim was not completely happy with the first version of these images. He has reworked the targ breeding ground. He is reworking the forced labor as well as two other surprises for later.

My favorite layout so far is the happy Horta hole. Horta Ore Extraction Plant Here the humans and Horta are working together in a large scale mining operation. See all the Horta holes in the background. Do you see the tractor loading up?
Here is an update of the layout Klingon forced labor. The mining structure is eating into the hill. The gas giant planet is as seen in the Espionage background. See if you notice any other changes. Where is Waldo?

Masterpieces. I can do the background for them, you will just need to add 3D parts of it.

Is the second image flipped? I ask because the annotations are backwards, that's all.
But yeah, awesome work as always. Keep passing on our eternal praise to Slim for us, Kenneth.

Slim keeps them coming. He has one for the Edo Palace. Slim writes: "A luxury palace of pleasure, boosting morale empire-wide. Ok, I kept it pretty straight forward here and simple. very simple. They are a simplistic race, nature, mostly nude and very literal. I kept it to four figures, playful even in the palace and their council. Notice the right figure as an Enforcer, female, who carries out judgment and punishment for offenders. Otherwise, I followed pretty much the episode, full of circle windows, and plenty of green, they love their nature. The Curtains drape down from inside the ceiling, so we do not see rods. Two unique flags with the national Edo logo. The center is a church like pane with crystal windows in between the rectangular center. Vertical lines near the flags are not windows but wooded paneling. I saw this in the episode, tons of Beige Cement walls and panels. Notice their seats are square, like the episode with red cushions, and a sun panel type table.. The circles represent possible light sources. You can even do this scene at night. The Edo do not care for clothing...Ha. I did the interior of the Palace to show how primitive the Edo were and give a feel that you are inside and welcomed no matter the race. Next is the Klingon Farms' Thanks Slim

Will we have 2 types of pictures of structures ? "interiors" and "exteriors" structures?

Does it matter how the images are drawn Starfleet? As long as the images look right, it doesn't matter whether they are internal or external. And you have to admit, Slim is awfully talented. I for one think it is a gorgeous image.

Don't worry, it was a simple question. I know that Slim is the best. These images are very excellent, the final result will be more than "better" for the artistic design made in this game.

Just one thing though Kenneth...if this image is intended as a replacement for the Edo Palace structure image ingame, it's going to have to be a lot smaller. The images we're working with are 270x225 pixels - does Slim know this? We can use bigger images, but the game automatically shrinks them down, so there's not really much point with making them bigger. Also note that this is a different aspect ratio to which Slim is making the images; they need to be about 10% taller (Or 10% narrower), otherwise they will be stretched/need cropping. This is the image when shrunk down. Note how much harder it is to make out what is in the image. However, it might come out better once painted. It may even be easier to paint first, then shrink down later. But these are all points that will need to be worked out later and for Slim to be mindful of. ...Or is there another use for the image that i'm not aware of/have I misunderstood the purpose of the image?

MOE, in fact the sense of the question about the "interiors of structures" that i asked is based about the size 270x225 that you talked!!!!

Yes, we will have to august the aspect a bit to fit the game needs. (This is nothing like the problem when the image layout is taller than it is wide.) Other than that just scaling down is no problem. I would do them as models but the time it would take to make one of these images a finished product is currently better spent on the full windows backgrounds, espionage and diplomacy. It would be nice if someone could render them as a painting or some digital 2d art. Was that 270 x 225 or 270 by 255 for these images?
Your page one first post reads "3. Images should be a minimum of 270 pixels wide by 255 pixels high."

Oh god does it? I'll change that now then. The correct size is 225. Not 255.

It may be some time before we have these as finished color images. I would think it OK to put them in as is for the next pre alpha release. We will know they are place holders. Just let the 10 per cent off do a little distortion when scaled. We have the originals for our artists to work with later on. They are great art even in black and white line drawings. Just ask the French guy.

Image size fixed in the first post. I did some colour updates to make the post more readable as well.
...
My shrunk image above already is distorted, so as you can see the 10% distortion really isn't a problem. If anyone thinks it is a problem though, we could easily crop the image height a little instead.

It's hard to tell when dealing with a black and white sketch. We will deal with that when the time comes. This is one example of how we can use diplomatic/espionage windows as structure images: Attachment:

One of the new Fed buildings is the Federation Embassy (Replaces the Communications Grid). That would actually make a perfect image for it!

The window itself isn't finished so this image is also not final, but you get the point.

It sounds like Corel Painter 11, AutoDesk SketchBook Pro and Paintshop are among the best of the digital painting software programs at this time. If we do not find someone that digitally paints then scanning in a conventional painting would do. That is for those images where we do not have a model or other image.

It would be a good idea to check the image properties of those we have on file. 225 vs 255 high

Supremacy is 225.
255 was the size of the images used in BOTF, which is where the problem arose, since we were using images from BOTF (And actually still are because they haven't been replaced yet).
This is the cause of the confusion. Forget 255, the future is 225 (Or any other number that follows the same aspect ratio).
