Here are a couple of others that I think are pretty good. I'm glad to see some ships retain the flavor of the 1701 and 1701 A. Bashir

I like the overall design of the Enterprise III, but i'd give it the Nacelles of the Enterprise I. Those Nacelles are sexy!
I don't like the round saucer of the Enterprise I though, it seems a step backward in design when the Sovereign and Intrepid - and even the Galaxy - have oval shaped Saucers.
The Enterprise II just looks like a ripoff of the Excalibur class from STO, albeit with a different neck line.

Go vote for your favorite. The Enterprise I is leading by quite a margin in number of votes. All three of them rate 4 stars out of 5 which makes you wonder if people have quite seen what they are hoping for. I can't find one design that got a 5 out of 5. Thanks for the comments Matress. Captain B

More lighting and paint on 1701 A as well as the Reliant.

I'm liking the Reliant's Phaser modules and the workings on the saucer under the torpedo pod. She looks like she's gonna be a mean machine. Who wants to play Kirk to my Khan? I love playing the Wrath of Khan mission in the Legacy Aftermath mod, or playing one-on-one missions of Constitution vs. Miranda and vice-versa. I've got some great screenies of some of the battles i've had. And I especially love targeting the engines of the enemy ships, leaving them utterly defenceless... I can't wait to play using these models too.

I am trying to follow all the drawings and plans I can find about the Reliant as close as possible. There are some disagreements but not much. There are no detailed pictures of the model like there are for 1701 A. There is also a weird mismatch at the back center where the impulse engine dome is. I have to work it out somehow.
I think these might be too high poly on the short term but possibly acceptable when processors hit 5 GHz.
I am reworking my Windows 7 install and so don't have photoshop installed yet. I have successfully written out some UV maps and can open them, but my drawing program is not very good for this kind of thing.
I would also really like to do 1701 C, D, E and an insignia class.

I want one! I never had a shuttle in STO. Now I can have one in real life instead.

I wonder if that could be used in the Federation background image. Very nice

I gave the shuttle an interior but as you can see am struggling with inner lighting and how transparent the transparent aluminum windows are. This is about the 25th render. Throwing in the towel. Just a little peeved Bashir

You guys are great. Thanks. I finally found an image of the back of the shuttle so may have to change the back of the model I drew. I was also told that the front window was slightly big. CB

Excuse my absence. Hope you all missed me a bit. I wish I could say I was working on a lot of ship images and other 2D images. Unfortunately I was busy and otherwise occupied. However, here is a little work on the Reliant. I have also been visiting the Sci Fy Meshes site and watching someone build 1701 A and learning from it.
What is new on the Reliant is the smooth transition between the saucer and the enlarged aft crew section on the side where the windows are (near the engine pylon). I also built the notches in the front of the enlarged aft section, and added the sensor components on the top of the saucer in front of the notches. The windows are smaller, closer to the actual size of the ship. There is a minor engine improvement. Also you can't see it in this view, but the back of the torpedo launcher on the crossbar is closer to the model.

Here is also some work on the Enterprise. Smaller windows and minor engine changes for accuracy. There are also some raised panels on the portion of the engine where the pylon attaches. They are hard to see at this angle and size. Bashir

I was thinking of using your Enterprise in the Federation Intro video. In order to transfer it into blender for animation we may have more luck if it is done object by object. Can you save each object as a .3ds one at a time? If you can then if you zip it up in a folder I could try to load it back into one model in blender.

Kenneth and Vjeko: I think that could be arranged. I am still lost about some of the aspects of Lightwave and how to include a texture with a file.
Gotta get back on it. My drawing skills have improved enough that I want to refine the Fortunate too.

You're going to improve the Fortunate? She's already eye candy. Be careful not to give us diabetes with even more eye candyness!

Thank-you Matress I appreciate it. Have already started a redo of the cargo containers. They weren't as accurate as they should have been. I will probably keep the existing main ship, but I want to do the bluish engine area below it. Actually, I never got very far on the main body where the containers attach either. None of the under scaffolding was done. In addition, after some searching I finally found adequate pictures of the back hatch of the shuttle Goddard. So I am working on that as well. One more thing, I found a piece of software that might make the external texturing / painting of the ships much simpler. Plodding along Bashir

That is really looking good. I will also need a go model of the NX-01. The combat version we have online is low poly. It is going to take a while to build that before I can animate it.

I found a better NX01 model here: http://www.celestiamotherlode.net/catalog/fic_startrek.phpI have to see if I can get the UV mapping that comes with it to import to blender.
