Yes Blaze, please add the Jem'Hadar line to the end of the dominion and let's hear your wife. Let use know how to list her in the credits in case we us her. I would say you still do the Jem'Hadar line at the end though. That is their big line and should be in a male voice.

Does anyone else want to make suggestion on the Romulan lines?

I humbly disagree with the jem'hdar line as thats more jem'hdar not founders. It is the jem'hdar way and say it alot true but your speaking and being a founder hence i dont see it being appropriate.

Talkin to Vj, we talked about that jemhdar saying. I think the only way id see it working is having the voice over gurus record about 4 jemhdar soldiers shouting it and syncing it so it sounds like a small group of jemhdar are shouting it from a group point of view and the vid would have to show a load of jemhdar or a good lookin group in military stance to make the jemhdar saying work to effect.

I think I could add over as many voices as we wish in my studio, no problem. We could sync them and add a slight shift in time, so that it stays in unison.
Your idea of having two voices of each sex in a line is appealing, I like it.

If you can do it Blaze with your wife, please PM me and we will work out something together, if you wish. Someone else would like to join in adding voices with Blaze? The more we have, the better it could sound. We could try something with Blaze, his wife, and his multi tone voices also, and see what we can come up with.
What do you say?
This is my suggestion...

Now that we are set on the Dominion I have a question about the Romulans. I do not recall seeing or hearing of a Romulan emperor. Do you recall one? If not mistaken the authority is the Romulan Senate and the Praetor acts on their athority. Does anyone recall in the "balance of terror" episode to who's Romulan flag ship they said was defeated by Kirk? A Romulan crewman said, as in disbelieving, that the Praetor's ship was just defeated. It should be the praetor and not the emperor we refer to. Google Romulan Praetor and you will see it is correct.

In STO they have empress sela so maybe they have previous ones too.

From memory alpha

http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/Romulan_Star_Empire

Quote:
The Romulan Star Empire was ruled by the Romulan Senate, which was overseen by the Praetor. The Continuing Committee was another powerful government body the praetor presided over. In 2373, Q considered the Romulan empress as an adequate mate. (DS9: "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges"; VOY: "The Q and the Grey"; Star Trek Nemesis)

Well there is only the Praetor, but in my version I left that part out so it's not important.

I like that a lot Vjeko. By taking out Praetor / Emperor you have removed a point that might confuse some users. I have only one small edit to put in. Make it "In obedience, duty and war these are the principles that must guide you:" Is that ok with you? It makes it clearer that the principles for obedience, duty and war are what follows imo.

Anyone think obedience sounds more jem'hdar sounding. My suggestion is to maybe change the word to loyaly as imo it sounds more romulan. Up to you guys im just putting it out there. And so it would read something like "Loyalty, duty and the Tal Shiar (or "military") these are the things that make us strong." Hmm i think i altered it a bit there lol ah well whatever.

Hmm scratch that how about.

Duty, loyalty and the Tal Shiar, these are the things that will make sure our place as rulers of the stars is certain. Or maybe tweak it if u think u can.

Hows that? I mean i do like Vj's way but i just wanted to try make it more romulan sounding. As the things i see that caused me to think about his line was things like. Obedience (dominion sounding), war (romulans dont usually do wars they make others fight amongst themselves so they dont get involved) and Principles (sounds too fed to me).

Just observations and suggestions.

To my taste if I understood right, The Dominion don't quite "obey", they participate obligatory as One. They are linked together IMO, so the word Obedience could be related to the Romulans as they force their people to do as they command.

I'd say: "Obedience, duty and efficiency in providing wars (or something like that) are the principle that must guide you. (Although I'd scratch the War thing and keep efficiency)
In order to win, first study the ennemies (!), find their weaknesses. (they don't fight, they study their ennemies)
Since they need to find more than one)
The rest should be like it is now. This is my suggestion, for what it's worth.

I am not really sure that would work. Imo it doesnt sound right.

The obedience bit btw is the jem'hdar saying it during their famous speech which is what i was comparing to. Not the founders themselves.

We will get there in the end lol.

Form that Enterprise episode with the remotely piloted Romulan drown ship it seamed that failure is a lethal error when you are judged by the Romulan Senate. We could say 'Romulans are the rightful rulers of the Galaxy. The Senate will not tolerate failure. To succeed follow these principles: .....'

That sounds good to me Kenneth!
To my opinion, Romulans have a clear tendency of inflicting fear in each of his members while, to my opinion again, Dominion show more confidence in their success.
The word "Obedience" has a tendency to inflict fear, barbaric fear that is, which makes me think it would fit with the Romulan race. For the Dominion, which has the advanced technology, it would mean going backward in the Founders' plan and returning to savagery. A bit like the Vulcans (Khan's Wrath).
I could be wrong though.
I'm speaking game story. In DS9, (I can't find the part though) Odo mentions a plan that would ruin the Dominion's belief with a secret message about a failure from the Great Founder (the part where DS9 is in flames everywhere.)

I found this about the Dominion:
http://www.startreklives.de/cultures/founders.htm
There's a lot to read but there are a few stories about changelings, Jem H'dar and Vorta in there. To whom likes to read.
I'll do a deeper search and update later.

EDIT: Forget about The DS9 in flames episode. I couldn't find it anywhere. I watched 10 hours of DS9 and abandoned the search but I still believe that Obedience should be a Romulans motto more than the Dominion, but it's still my opinion...

So for the Dominion we have a female voice:

The Dominion was founded with one purpose in mind.
Bring order to a chaotic galaxy.
To realize this dream, we created the Vorta to administrate our order and the Jem'Hadar to keep our order.
Do not trust the solids. Master them.

In male voices:

Obedience brings victory,
and victory is life"

Here is a WIP of what I was doing during the week in California.

This will be refined as the closing scene with the banner on the surface of the planet.

Thanks
There will be some work done on the timing to get the smoke to work better with the banner. Final timing will have to wait for putting it all into one package with the other parts. This is what I need some cracking fire sounds for. Does anyone have a line on sounds we can use?

Sorry guys, it looks like someone was able to finish this before me. Here it is on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMzgY68g0-0

:bolian: I can't touch dis home boy
They need to go farther out into the countryside before doing something like this. Like so far out you can not see or hear them.

Now, would that fit the Federation? Or the Klingon perhaps?
Other planet? Mmmmh.... What's that vehicle I saw behind? A SHUTTLE? Yea..aack! :klingon: :vulcan: :mischief: :wtf:

As for the crackling fire sounds, I have enough here to crackle your desires, Kenneth! If you ever need to redo the Klingon scene, please tell me what you would like added. Or replaced. We can work out the crackling part in relation to the length.

Needs a good drum section i think for the klingon music like a warrior battle drumming track. Slow but regular and steady.

Doable!
I need to know if it's for the whole track or just the ending part. Because in the original track I made for the Klingons, there's already a lot of drums. Listen to "A good day to Die" on SharePoint. We take only a part of it to mix in with the clip. I think you'll like it.

That fire with banner clip will become the ending of the Klingon Intro Video. It is when the Klingons have taken the planet. The music we already have may do the work. I see the fire sounds as a little added in like the special effects sounds for the main sequence with the ships. I will depend on Gino to get the correct sound mix in the final version. He is the one with the really good sound mixer and ear for it. If he wants to add something in like more drums that is his call.

I would just add more light. The fire would shed orange light over the flag and it wouldn't be so dark.
