To complete this campaign for refreshing Supremacy and attracting new people we should really update our web page and perhaps redesign it a bit.

Opinions? Options?

I'm willing to help. I know matress will probably say we just need a program update, but anything fresh and new will pull in curious users. I still think it would be nice to have a daily update summary of all the projects underway and where we stand on program development.

Well yes, Supremacy does desperately need an update, but an updated site would certainly be of benefit. I don't know who runs it anymore though. Last I heard, Mike had handed over the reins to Jean, but since Jean is no longer active here he has no idea what progress is being made. And the site hasn't been updated since the 17th May 2009.

If we're going to do an update, we're going to need to regain control of the site. And I haven't got a clue how to do that. I haven't got a clue how you make a webpage either so I can't help with that even if we get control over it again.

Well I know something about that but there are teammembers that certainly know more. It is imperative that we regain control.

Besides being out-of-date, there are also several embarrassing typos present, eg in the second paragraph:

I own the domain and hold the hosting account, so replacing the content is just a matter of someone taking the time to make something better. Please, dear god, somebody volunteer--the grammar is so atrocious that I'm embarrassed to give the URL out.

Well I can easily rewrite the text on the site, I just wouldn't know how to upload it there or whatever it is that you do to make a website.

As for updates, there's plenty of stuff that we *could* include on the website;

• The new intro videos
• Samples of our gorgeous new structure and minor race emblem images
• Slim's concept images (With his permission of course)
• Clips of the new voice acting that Blaze has done
• Screenshots of the new/updated features
• Staff interviews
• Visitor polls for new game features
• Updated news features

Anyone have any other ideas for what we could do?

What is it written in? ASP, PHP or just HTML with CSS?

I'm pretty decent with HTML and CSS, my ASP is a little rusty and I don't know PHP very well besides the very basics.

I can help, but I'm not sure I can take on the whole page. However if anyone needs tips or help writing pieces I would be glad to help when I can.

From what I've seen it looks like currently it is just simple HTML (with CSS) done in like dreamweaver or something.

Now that we are talking about this stuff, how about the Facebook Supremacy page? I have reactivated my account in FB and since I still have admin privileges in the group page, I could keep it in sync to the Supremacy.com site. Matress do you want to also be admin in the FB page as well? (if Mike of course agrees)

Well at the moment i'm logged into Facebook near-permanently, but i'm starting a new job in two weeks and that's going to be really long hours, including evening and weekend work, so my time for pretty much everything is going to be relatively non-existent for the next 6 months. Otherwise i'd say yes.

Thanks Kenneth, but it's not as if i'm actually doing anything for Supremacy at the moment anyways. .Iceman is in charge of the game texts now, so my involvement here over the last 6 months actually amounts to diddly squat.

Thanks for the offer but I am full-time on the race intro videos right now.

FYI the animation is now slowly recording on a much more polished final scene with the fire and banner. It has things like burning embers, heat distortion of the air, flickering light and more. All these tools are what I need to get into the special effect of the main sequence with the ships. Adding in shields, weapons and explosions just would not look good without the compositor and other slick tool I can now bring to the table. Once the animation cooks I will turn it over to Gino for audio. It is longer than I hope we will need so any extra can be shaved off later in the editing process.
