I think we could do a survey so that we could find out what do people think about star trek supremacy. I already wrote a few questions:

1) How old are you?
under 14
14 - 18
19 - 25
26 - 38
39 - 50
over 50

2) How many Star Trek themed games have you played?
none
1
2 - 3
4 - 6
over 6

3) Have you ever heard of Star Trek: Birth of The Federation?
Yes
No

4) If YES, what did you like about the game?
It was fun to play.
It included a lot of ships from different time periods.
It had great graphics.
It had a fantastic gameplay.
It was a strategy.
It was different from the other Star Trek games.

5) Have you ever heard of Star Trek Supremacy?
Yes
No

6) If YES, where did you hear about it?
On the radio.
On the television.
A friend told me.
Over the internet.
Other (Please Specify):

7) Should the game focus on characters from Star Trek?
1 - don't do it
2 - doesn't sound fun
3 - maybe
4 - might be fun
5 - totally yes

8) Should the game focus on the ships and technologies from Star Trek?
1 - don't do it
2 - doesn't sound fun
3 - maybe
4 - might be fun
5 - totally yes

If you have any ideas what else we could ask, comment here. Please comment on the questions that I wrote till now. I think it is important that we get feedback from other people in the star trek community so that we know what might they like or dislike about the game.

On other forums connected to Star Trek, I'm sure they wouldn't mind.
And on sites connected to Star Trek. I'm sure we could get around 60 people to do it, even more. :)

We could always do one over on StarTrekSupremacy.com. We've already said the site needs a major update and revamp. This could be just another part of that.

If they're on startreksupremacy.com, then obviously they've heard of Star Trek: Supremacy... I think part of the purpose is to measure general awareness, which can't be done if you only poll people who are known to be familiar with the game.

Perhaps if we ask Trekmovie or some similar site to post it along with the news about us...

i thought that the poll should target the people from the star trek community, not from star trek supremacy forum :P
and that are not al the questions, I'm working on more.

An easy way to circulate the survey would be to create one on Facebook (we already have a page there) and then cross-post it to other Star Trek related FB pages. It will require some co-operation from other admins etc but it is feasible.

Thoughts?

an easy way to do a survey might be to make a new topic - at the bottom there's a function to do a survey. We did this (in german) http://bote-forum.square7.ch/phpBB3/vie ... =37&t=1642 ("how do you start gaming": just playing, reading manual/Wiki/forum/ another method....) or more surveys here http://bote-forum.square7.ch/wiki/index ... le=Umfrage

it might be useful to make a own survey-area, and put the surveys where everybody can read and write (I did one in a announcing area - dont know, if every vote has to be released by a moderator)

I think it's useful to do the topic-titel always: "Survey: ..."
