Well the lens flare can be added additionally if we want. About the other stuff we'll see what we get. At least the Constitution sequence will be very similar.

The last problem is the timing. Each animation you sent is 250 frames. At 24 frames per second that is about 10.42 seconds of animation in each of the two. I figure there is about 12 seconds of audio to do the whole thing. We have to cut the animation down to a total of 12 seconds. If you will figure in the timing and send me new blend files I can render it as .avi for you.

Well I put a lot of surplus frames (just in case) and the second animation actually just builds on the first from another angle. The timing will be done in later montage.

Ok, here is the NX sequence. The last second will fade into a black frame and then onto the Connie sequence. Youtube messed up the quality a bit.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0d4Nj1Y-2o

The text for this part is 6 seconds long and the video itself is about 7 seconds. I also didn't go with the warp part of it because it wasn't in my original concept of the sequence(just leaving orbit a symbol of some beginning.)

Kenneth, I'll send you the Connie sequence for rendering soon.

NCC 1701 in orbit of Vulcan.

What do you think of the two sequences? Are they ok or do you want to redo them. I had some problems with my technique but I believe I managed to solve them.

It's up to you.

Very nice work. We should try to slow down the Constitution class though. That should be OK. When I get the time I will work on an NX01 to see if something different will also work.

Sorry I have been busy of late. Here is the Vjeko1701.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkSC-mlEh9M
I will send the file soon. The graph editor lets you edit the motion to linear so it is smooth. See that it does not speed up then slow down. Select the keys around the motion slop and under 'key' take interpolation mode / linear. Otherwise blender defaults to smooth out transitions even beyond what you are animating. It is also extended out to 250 frames so is slower.

Complex camera motion would not work well with the green screen replacement Vjeko is using. That would have to be done by putting the planet in the blender model. We could post production render a nice planet image in photoshope and then VU map it to a background plane large enough to cover camera motion. It would work but Vjeko has fun doing the green screen work. Also the original scene is taken from TOS with a fixed camera. It is paying tribute to that shot.

Yeah, I will leave other scenes to you since they won't work with the green screen. I wouldn't insist on these if the imagined planet look could be done in blender, it much easier to edit the wanted background in photoshop and overlay the motion over it. The rest of the scenes have no planets so post-edition is not needed.

This is not what it will look like in the final animation but I did want to show work is still underway. I have solved some compositing issues and will be working on the animation.

Wow! Great job Kenneth!
But why is there two extensions? .png.jpg? Maybe I don't know much about extensions but it's funny because I never saw that before in a picture. Tell me if I'm wrong...

Just being sloppy, the original extention was .png and the image save defaulted to .jpg turning the old extention into part of the name.png

I just noticed that the stars are a bit repetitive, I can see the same cluster four times in this frame. When I get home I'll remove it from the stars background.

OOps! I guess I'll have to check my own images because sometimes I am also fast for saving things without checking first! And I get nasty surprises...

Video: NX-01 leaves earth orbit and goes to warp.
Voice Actor: This is truly a historic day, a day when we established the United Federation - of - Planets. //Background sound of stadium cheering the speaker.

Video: NX-01 in orbit of Vulcan.
The Federation's charter is to discover strange new worlds, to seek out new life, and new civilizations. //cheering

Video: Constitution class approaching a nebula
Voice Actor: Starfleet's mission is to explore the galaxy,...

Video: Federation fleet boldly responding to aggression.
Voice Actor: ...preserve the peace and respond to aggression.//we want to avoid the notion that Starfleet does only military duty, so I added the exploration part.

Video: Three federation ships warping into a federation symbol (with their warp flashes being the three stars in the symbol)
Voice Actor:On this day we have made our first steps, it's our time to boldly go where no one has gone before.

So I need a high def nebula for the Constitution class to fly into.
Then it is load of Federation ships to create the 7th fleet.

I wanted to try to recreate the Mutara nebula for it, I you can wait for a day or two for me to do it. These are the last days of highschool so I'm not home a lot.

Do you have a list of Federation ships for the 7th fleet. How many?

Awesome Nebula there, vjeko (the senior). Don't know how you do it.

Captain

Thanks, I got the nebula, nice work.

The fleet will be a load of ships from our library. It is as if a player is building up. It is not based on a episode of ST.

Thanks mates, it's not that hard when you know your way around Photoshop and I'm using it since the 7th grade, so that's 6 years now. If you take that into account, this is not that impressive work, just some clouds, motion blur, warp transform and few blendings...

What I would suggest is removing the screenshot from ST:Enterprise at the start from the final version due to copyright issues.

Also you can use our models as background ships but you can get more detailed models from dafedz for a close-up flyby. I can try to draw up some concepts for the scene if I get the time tomorrow.
