No one has posted about the finale of STU. I am going to miss it. They really moved things forward the latter half of this season. We are left..

Spoiler: show
...hanging as to whether Eli fixes the stasis pod or not.

Spoiler: show
...whether they actually make it or not to the next galaxy.

Maybe they will make a movie.

Sorry to see it go Bashir

Actually I was away from home for the past 3~4 weeks, so only yesterday I managed to watch the SGU finale.

Eli
Spoiler: show
In the last couple of scenes, I was expecting Eli to burst into a diabolical/sinister lough as he was the only one left on the ship, after sending the other two for "sleep". That would have been a nice twist in the story (leaving him to do as he pleases with Destiny/the crew) :twistedlaugh:
Too bad he proved to be a good guy after all. Didn't he learn anything from Rush after 2 seasons?

My constant complaint
Spoiler: show
Lt James had a couple of scenes, but no lines :gripe:

Movie
Spoiler: show
As far as I know there are no plans to make a movie as the Stargate franchise has been shelved

Yeah, I read somewhere they were selling off / breaking down the sets. :gripe:

Spoiler: show
They should have written it that two people could use the food and oxygen for the 3 years and left Eli and James.

I don't think anyone posted because we didn't want it to be official. Alas poor Stargate, we knew thee well.

You know what occurred to me as ironic. The one Stargate that was the most like Star Trek AND Star Wars in that there was a ship exploring galaxies Far Far Away and the ship had "beaming technology" from the onboard stargate to a planet's surface, is the one that didn't make it. Maybe it shows you how sophisticated the fans are when it comes to story line.

May the Force be with the tall tall ship with a gate ship to steer her by Bashir

Open letter from Syfy apologizing to fans:
http://www.gateworld.net/news/2011/05/a ... from-syfy/

There are several interesting bits of info that I didn't know/realized:

1) SGU was a 2 season deal from the start or at least that's what this guy claims

2) Also, "advertisers buy based on just the 18-49 segment of these numbers". I would expect that they are interested in the total, not just some fraction of the people who watch a show. Don't the people that are 50+ or <18 have buying power? Surely they do but perhaps either not enough (a 10 year old does not have the $$$ to buy an iPad) or they don't care (say for an 80 old).

3) If you see the plot, they (the advertisers?) consider anything below 2 million viewers an unsustainable level! Then why was Californication (airs on Showtime) renewed for a fifth season, when the fourth scored on average 0.5 mil? Wasn't that unsustainable? You can see the stats here:
