I'm looking at the app store right now (through itunes since I'm at work) and the app is a whopping 190MB! WTF ? Also, given that this app is actually just an advertisement (in disguise), I was shocked to see that it costs 30DKK=4 euros. My guess is that they are trying to squeeze us poor Trekkies from every single penny (eurocent) we have. Just lame .

I am even cheaper than that, do not have an iPad.

Why doesn't someone just write an operating system like that?

On another note: matress last visit to the site was over a week ago. I hope he's OK. Haven't seen vjeko much lately either.

First of all, Apple is very strict with these things and I doubt they will ever allow free development on their devices. On PCs, I guess one could possibly do it as a theme running on top of some flavour of linux or something, but then one could run into legal problems with Paramount.

I haven't seen neither of them lately, but vjeko seems to be somewhat active on facebook...

Edit: I just tried the app on my iPad and to be frank it is a bit disappointing. While the UI is quite nice, the amount of information is much smaller compared to Memory Alpha or even Wikipedia. More or less, I agree with what it is said in this review:

Finally, the integration with Facebook and Twitter is rather distracting, as it breaks the Trek atmosphere

This is a cool app, but I don't have an Ipad and I don't plan on getting one. I'm not an Apple fanboy. My HTC Desire is all I need.
