Hey guys, taking a little break from studying for tommorow's math exam. I don't have time to get into the discussion right now...but when I get the time...
I just had an idea while looking at Kaladin's suggestion, we could make a series of artistic images using our models and textures and post them to our site as Supremacy game art, or early concepts of the combat engine...just to show people the project is not dead. We could have an image or two for every major race plus a few minor ones. Images would be like "Leaving drydock" or approaching planet...I hope you get my point.

That is a good idea V. @Kaladin In combat engine views you can put planets in as a background image. It would not be anything you could get to or go around. The code might, as you suggest, also show the yards in the background or as models set at or just past the limits of the combat area. They could be out of combat action and just eye candy. I wonder if it could be an asset you capture?

Starbase Copernicus from Drex files. Possible Design for this game? It could be the basis for a federation fleetyard?

Here is an old thread where I use to keep the current 3D model images up to date. It takes a long time to load all the images. Most of them still are as shown but two things have happened over the years. Some users have gone in and moved models around feeling that their arrangement was more in keeping with canon. They did not update this image list. Others have begun to make new 2D images for use in the game based on models both too complex to work in a combat engine and not looking like the models we do have that will work in a combat engine. Again this list was not updated. When the time comes that we have a combat engine being worked on I will clean up this thread, the models and links.

This is probably me. Don't worry, I'll do the simplified combat engine version for each. Lower poly models are easy once the more complicated one is done. I could probably do them all in a day, and will, if anyone says they've even started programming the combat engine.

I was fooling around making a background for my laptop for fun. I stole the Destroy II from ingame with a screencapture so its not really the best quality and the angles are off but... Attachment:

It is free. here Mike wants us to use that in place of .rar for all Supremacy work anyway. Nice art work Kaladin and Captain B.

I am not finding that it works with RAR. The program allows me to pick files it associates with including RAR but it refuses to respond. The box does not stay checked under "options"

You open the zip program, select the file and click extracted followed by telling it where to put the unpacked file.

Somehow it still doesn't seem to give the .rar files the 7-zip logo like you would expect it to. I installed a different one that was 64 bit to match my windows 7 install.

That might be because it didn't get associated with the file type correctly. Some files can be opened by multiple programs, usually when you install them it associates all the files that it can open. However sometimes you might not want files associated, if for example you have other programs that open them, or it might simply have got missed somehow.

Sorry, I did not vet that download site. Here it is from cnet. That should be the crap-free version. http://download.cnet.com/7-Zip/3000-2250_4-10045185.html

A possible design concept for a Fed shipyard or fleetyard. I know, I know, it needs 4 bays.

Nice design and yes, the yard_iii has four bays and the fleetyard six.

It could be the Fleetyard II...
Fleetyard I is obviously Utopia Planitia. But the current Utopia image that we have is a computer generated one and i'm not sure of its' source (Anyone know where it comes from and if we actually have permission to use it?). We could have the current Fleetyard II image as the Fleetyard I, and have this new model as the Fleetyard II.

The current Fleetyard_ii is a combination of the Federation Science Station and a shipyard model.

Because the above Federation Concept Station from the Drex Files is done in threes, it seems more obvious to make it into the six bay fleetyard I. Your thoughts? It is of course, not nearly done yet.

What about stacking the bays under the disks in a 2 stack 3 prong shape, or maybe a 6 six point star (3 per tier, with the 3 disks on top, which will make it 3 tiers tall, keeping with the 3x3x3 idea). Something like this maybe: Attachment:
